Prevent Bathing Suit from Fading:
- Rinse the Bathing Suit in Cold Water Immediately after Using: Whether you were on the beach or at a swimming pool, the bathing suit may have been exposed to substances such as chlorine or salt spray that can fade the suit if you don't rinse it well
- Fill a Sink Basin with Clean, Cold Water: Add a mild detergent that states it won't fade colors -- just a teaspoon per gallon of water
- Wash the Suit Gently by Hand: Do this by stirring the water and carefully rubbing the suit. There is no need to soak the bathing suit in the soapy water unless the suit has acquired a difficult stain
- Let the Water Drain from the Sink: Rinse the bathing suit under the faucet with cold water so that no detergent residue remains
- Dry the Bathing Suit Indoors: Bathing suits expose in the sunlight will fade. Open a window or turn on a fan to speed up drying. Wet cloth will develop a musty odor if not dried quickly in warm weather
Washing Method:
- Flush by clear water below 30℃ after use
- Do not bleach or use any bleaching laundry products
- Remove swimwear from the water, gently squeeze excess water (never twist or wring the swimwear)
- Please wash the inside of the swimwear, not the outside of the fabric directly
- Lay a towel out on a flat surface and lay the swimwear flat on top of the towel to air dry
- Do not place the swimwear in the sun as this may cause fading
Swimwear Maintenance Instruction:
- Heat Is Bad: To keep elasticity and toughness of the fabric, no exposure to sunlight directly while hang up. To avoid color fading or deterioration, do not keep it at airless (as plastic bag) or high-temperature (as car trunk) places while it's moistened. Open a window or turn on a fan to speed up drying. Wet cloth will develop a musty odor if not dried quickly in warm weather
- After a Swim, Rinse: Whether in an ocean, swimming pool or hot tub, salt, chlorine and bromine will eat away at the fabric. So wash your swimwear immediately after finish swim
- Tanning: Tan before you swim. That way your suit remains dry, so the sun won't cause as much damage to the material
How to Wear Maternity Swimwear?

If you are pregnant during the summer or plan on going on vacation while you are pregnant, you are going to have to invest in maternity swimwear. Maternity swimwear, whether a bathing suit or bikini, should fit well, provide the coverage you desire and be flattering to your pregnant figure

- Consider the level of exposure. Most women feel uncomfortable showing off too much skin while they are pregnant. Opt for a one-piece or a tankini if you do not wish to reveal your belly
- Wear swimwear with halter tops. A halter top bathing suit is ideal for a pregnant woman because of the support that it provides
- Choose a fun pattern. Busy floral and striped patterns are placed on maternity swimwear for women that do not wish to draw too much attention to a growing belly
- Look at the material. Nylon and spandex blends are the best for maternity swimwear because of the stretchiness of the fabric
- Go for the maternity tankini. Tankini tops are built to accommodate your belly while the bottoms will ride low for comfort
How to Choose Maternity Swimwear?

Today's department stores have separate clothing and swimming lines for expecting mothers. If you are pregnant, follow these steps to choose the right swimwear for your lifestyle- Ask a salesperson at the store about the latest fashions in maternity swimwear. Let her know how advanced your pregnancy is so that she can guide you towards the proper swimwear styles
- Choose a single piece maternity swimwear as it covers and shapes itself according to the size of your growing abdomen. If you are comfortable with the way you look, go for a two-piece bathing suit
- Opt for bright and colorful pieces. They are cheery and interesting. Use a black color if you want a slimming look
- Choose maternity swimwear that contains added support for your abdomen such as halter bikinis, skirted halters, nursing bikinis or the one-piece bikini suits with maternity underwear and tankinis. These are best when you are in an advanced pregnancy stage
- Buy sports-style, racer back maternity swimwear for a more retro look. They come in various match-n-mix options and are specifically designed for the comfort of the mother-to-be
Swimming Benefits During Pregnancy and Maternity Swimwear Recommendations:
Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do while you are pregnant. For all trimesters of your pregnancy, swimming is safe and provides you with a low-impact exercise with excellent cardiovascular benefits and low risk of injury. Swimming improves your body's ability to process and use oxygen as well as improved circulation, endurance and better muscle tone. Swimming can also help you sleep better at night, relax your muscles and help you burn excess pregnancy calories

- If you were a regular swimmer before pregnancy, then swimming while pregnant should be an easy transition. Remember to listen to your body and take it a little slower as you progress with your pregnancy so you do not overexert yourself as you are swimming for two now and your body has to work a lot harder than before. If you were not a regular swimmer before pregnancy, than check with your doctor or midwife first. You will need to take swimming gradually and listen to your body so you do not stretch your limits
- In the cooler months you will probably be swimming in an indoor pool or outdoor heated pool. Make sure that you remember to stay well-hydrated, even in the cooler months when you do not think about cooling down. When you are pregnant your body requires more fluids, particularly during exercise. It is a good idea to drink before swimming, about every 20 minutes while swimming and then after swimming. Also avoid caffeine beverages as they will dehydrate you
- If you are more of a light swimmer, the breast stroke is a good low-impact stroke to do when you are pregnant. This stroke makes it easy to get the oxygen you need and is a little less taxing on the body and lungs and easier to go a slower pace. Also the breast stroke can lengthen chest muscles and help align your back muscles which is particularly beneficial in your 3rd trimester when muscles in your back and chest can become misaligned
- As you tummy expands as early as the first trimester, it is a good idea to invest in a maternity swimsuit that is suitable for lap swimming. One piece suits are usually your best bet rather than the fashion maternity suits such as babydolls and tankinis which can fly around you in the water and make it harder to swim with all the extra floating material. The simpler and sleeker the suit the better it is for allowing you to glide naturally through the water and provide less water resistance. Also, look for a suit that is very stretchy with room to expand in both the bust and belly as you will continue to grow in those areas over the nine months of your pregnancy
- Some good one piece suits to consider are Prego's Empire Tank and Texture Heart Swimsuit. Both of these styles are stretchy one piece maternity swimsuits that are designed for actually swimming laps in the pool. Both are made with 20% lycra that will give you some room to grow where you need it. If you are in between sizes or unsure which size to get, it's best to buy up a size so you will have room to wear the suit for your entire pregnancy. Prego's Empire Tank suit has exceptional bust support with a bra-link band in the back and wide adjustable shoulder straps. Both suits can accommodate a range of bust sizes
- If you were not a regular swimmer before, then you can try a kickboard, water aerobics or even just walking across the pool for low-impact water resistance exercise. Just about any style maternity swimwear would work for these types of pool exercises and are still a wonderful way to get a safe workout when pregnant. Some women prefer not to wear a strapless mini for pool exercising for obvious concerns. If the strapless mini is your preferred style, then look for one with a removable halter strap that you can wear in the pool for a little added security. Prego's Strapless mini is very well made with a secure and fitted design around the top that actual provides bust support and a detachable halter strap
- So regardless of the season, check with your doctor about trying out swimming or pool exercises during your pregnancy for health benefits to both you and your baby

10-07-2011- Other Thoughts: The material seems to be sturdy and of good quality. I also ordered a size larger than what I typically wear in shirts and pants...knowing that I have a large bust size and the suit fit perfectly. If and when I lose more weight, I will be purchasing this one again.

09-22-2011- Other Thoughts: This swimsuit is excellent. It fits well, stays in place while swimming. It is very hot here in Texas, but this item is very durable and comfortable. It is hard to find swimsuits in my size that I can swim in, so I was very happy to find this suit. Thank you!
