How to Save Your Cell Phone Battery?
- TURN IT OFF: Try to turn off your phone as much as possible when it's not going to be in use. When you're in a location that doesn't have service, on a airplane, or even at work when you're not aloud to have a phone while being on the clock. Otherwise, your phone will continue to search for the best signal available and it will run down the battery
- BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE: Don't leave your cell phone in any kind of extreme temperatures. A couple examples would be not to leave it in the car on a snowy night or on the beach all day in 100 degree weather.
- DON'T CHARGE YOUR BATTERY UNLESS IT NEEDS IT: Newer cell phones use lithium ion batteries. They operate on a certain number of cycles so the more you charge them, the faster it'll run down your battery.
- REMOVE YOUR BATTERY: Remove the battery when your cell phone is not going to be used for an extended period of time, such as going on vacation where there's not a cell phone signal.
- BE CAUTIOUS WITH CELL PHONE CHARGERS: Only use the cell phone charger that was supplied with your phone or by the same manufacturing company. Other aftermarket chargers may have a different voltage output that can destroy your battery.
- USE THE VIBRATE MODE ONLY WHEN NECESSARY: Having your phone in vibrate or selecting a special ring tones for calls or voice mail notification utilizes twice as much power. Having a basic ring tone with a low to medium volume will save your battery power.
- ONLY USE THE BACK LIGHT WHEN NEEDED: As soon as you open your phone the back light turns on. Choosing to only have it come on at night time or for a minimum amount of time will save on your battery
- LIMIT YOUR EXTRA FEATURE USAGE: Using the internet, camera, video, and Bluetooth will drain your battery at a fast rate. Using these options wisely will result in a longer lasting battery and less cell phone charging.
How To Prolong the Life of Your Battery?
- Initialize a new battery. New batteries should be fully charged before their first use to obtain maximum capacity. Nickel-based batteries should be charged for 16 hours initially and run through 2-4 full charge/full discharge cycles, while lithium ion batteries should be charged for about 5-6 hours. Ignore the phone telling you that the battery is full--this is normal but is not accurate if the battery is not initialized. DO NOT fully discharge a lithium-ion battery! Unlike Ni-Cd batteries, lithium-ion batteries' life is shortened every time you fully discharge them. Instead, charge them when the battery meter shows one bar left
- Keep the battery cool. Put the battery in the freezer or fridge. Your battery will last longest if used near room temperature, and nothing wears on a battery like extended exposure to high temperatures. While you can't control the weather, you can avoid leaving your phone in a hot car or in direct sunlight, and you don't have to carry your phone in your pocket, where your body heat will raise its temperature. In addition, check the battery while it's charging. If it seems excessively hot, your charger may be malfunctioning
- Charge your battery correctly, in accordance with its type. Most newer cell phones have lithium-ion batteries, while older ones generally have nickel-based batteries. Read the label on the back of the battery or in the technical specifications in the manual to determine which yours is
- Store batteries properly. If your battery will be out of use for a while, disconnect it from the phone and store it in a cool place (the refrigerator is good, but freezing temperatures do not slow oxidation) and away from metal objects. Ensure that the battery is not exposed to moisture; try putting the battery in an airtight container or bag. Lithium ion batteries are not rated to operate at refrigerated temperatures, so let the battery sit outside the refrigerator for at least an hour before using it again. Lithium ion batteries oxidize least when they are stored at 40% charge. Never store a lithium battery at low voltage. Recharge batteries after storage
- Clean the battery contacts on the battery and on the phone. Over time, contacts may accumulate dirt. Clean them with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to maximize the efficiency of energy transfer. In addition, if the contacts are two different metals, such as gold and tin, accelerated corrosion known as "galvanic or bi-metallic" occurs. Cutting the corrosion from

04-13-2011- Other Thoughts: It is of very good quality, a bit delayed the delivery, but it must be for the options chosen of delivery. Charge well and has long working time.

02-16-2011- Other Thoughts: After reasonably heavy use several months, my phone started behaving erratically, rebooting spontaneously and indicating low battery seconds after being put into use! This prompted me to start planning a phone upgrade. Being ineligible for a contract extension upgrade meant that I would be looking for a new phone, unlocked, at a rather substantial cost. I decided to give this reasonably priced retail battery a whirl first, based on the reviews, and was thrilled when it gave my phone a new lease of life!

11-25-2010- Other Thoughts: Bought this when my factory battery wasn't lasting long after a couple years. Don't remember exactly how long the factory one lasted when it was new, but this one is generally good for 2 days with average talk time. Much cheaper to buy a battery than get a new phone.

05-19-2010- Other Thoughts: I got my battery via expedited shipping. It arrived as promised, but was loose in a USPS Priority Mail envelope--no packaging at all, although a clear plastic sleeve was open in the same envelope. It charged OK, but I'm not really sure it was new.

03-15-2010- Other Thoughts: I purchased this for a friend with the fear it might not be the real thing or not be able to hold a charge but it turned-out to be a GREAT battery and the price with shipping was almost too good to be true! Thanks and the Vendor!

01-07-2010- Other Thoughts: Just received my battery & I was surprised to see that it was retail packaged version.... I'm usually skeptical about ordering batteries online, I've had too many fake cheapish from china in the past... This is a Genuine Retail packaged one!
