How to Make a Wooden Music Box?
A music box is a charming keepsake or knickknack that can be passed down through the generations. A basic music box is relatively easy to make, and it is a good project for beginning woodworking students. Although there are many ways to make a music box, the basic principles of assembly are the same. You can use these principles to make your own music box with just a few pieces of wood, simple tools and a few peripheral parts.
- Carve a design into your wood if desired
- Drill a small hole in one of the 3- by 6-inch pieces of wood. This will be the base of the music box that the music mechanism goes through
- Sand all pieces of wood
- Punch a small hole in the center of the piece of metal with the metal punch. Then punch four smaller holes in each corner of the piece of metal with the smaller punch and screw the piece of metal onto your bottom piece of 3- by 6-inch wood so that the large hole in the metal lines up with the hole in the wood

09-30-2011- Other Thoughts: The Music Box Movements are way too light in color to have the beautiful glowing light I have in others around the house. The globe I received has the affect of turning on a bright light bulb. I could have done that a whole lot cheaper! <br/>I wouldn't recommend this sellers Crystal Globe. Crystal Globe should have a beautiful glow, creating a soothing environment.

08-08-2011- Other Thoughts: This was a Christmas present for my brother. He saw it at J.C. Penney but we went looking for it there we didn't find it. So I decided to check dinodirect.com and found Music Box Movements here. My brother was very glad we were able to get The Music Box here. He likes it very much.

07-20-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a gorgeous Ballerina Music Box. It is so heavy and looks great when placed on its stand. These Music Box Movements are real attention-getter. I had never heard of Godinger before but after looking at their line, there are several more items that I would like to have. You would really love to have this globe and stand.
