How to Increase Lumens on Flashlights:
The term "Lumens" refers to the measured output of light hitting an object and illuminating it. A Lumen is one "foot-candle" of light that is falling on a square foot of area but for practical purposes you can consider it to be how bright a flashlight bulb is compared to another light source. To increase the lumens of a flashlight, for example, replace the incandescent bulb with a Xenon-bulb that outputs more light. It has higher "Lumens" than the incandescent bulb it replaces. The procedure is straightforward and will not damage the flashlight. Xenon bulbs are available from hobby stores as well as from lighting supply centers
Instructions
- Unscrew the battery cap from the back end of the flashlight. Remove the cap and slide the batteries out from the back end. Place the cap and batteries aside for later
- Unscrew the reflector from the front of the flashlight. Push the plastic lens out of the inside of the reflector with your finger. Dispose of the lens in the trash
- Insert the needle-nose pliers into the front of the flashlight. Grip an edge of the incandescent bulb's base with the pliers. Twist the pliers counterclockwise to loosen the bulb from the lamp socket. Remove the pliers. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise with your fingers until it comes free of the lamp socket. Remove the incandescent bulb and place it aside
- Put on the white gloves. Remove the Xenon bulb from its protective packaging. Insert the base of the Xenon bulb into the front of the flashlight. Push the base into the lamp socket. Rotate the bulb a quarter turn clockwise
- Insert the needle-nose pliers into the front of the flashlight. Grip an edge of the Xenon bulb's base with the pliers. Twist the pliers clockwise until resistance is felt. Remove the pliers
- Screw the reflector back on the front of the flashlight. Return the batteries into the battery compartment at the back end of the flashlight and screw the battery cap on. Remove the white gloves
How to Store Flashlight Batteries:
If you are setting up an emergency kit or simply wish to plan ahead, keeping batteries that fit your flashlight is always a good idea. Storing batteries is something that must be done carefully and properly to avoid damaging the batteries or allowing the battery acid to leak out. When storing your batteries, there are certain precautions you must take to ensure the batteries are being stored safely. While the precautions are important, they are quite simple and can be remembered easily for later use
Instructions
- Keep the flashlight batteries in their original packaging until you will be using them. If you have lost the original packaging, place the batteries in a small storage container without allowing the terminals to touch
- Store the batteries in a cool, dry place. If the batteries ever feel warm to the touch, discard them immediately
- Remove batteries from the flashlight itself if it has not been in use for at least 30 days. Keep them in storage until it is time to use them
- Refrain from removing the plastic cap if your flashlight requires 9V batteries

03-14-2012- Other Thoughts: It is easy to carry this and turn on and off when wearing heavy winter gloves. Also so easy with small flashlight with tail button. This is the best flashlight at anywhere near this price. Looks like the batteries are going to last a long time as well.

03-04-2012- Other Thoughts: I bought this best led flashlight for my Grandpa as a birthday gift. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. We installed the batteries that it comes with, turned it on, and I thought I was going to go blind! This thing packs a punch to be as small and as lightweight as it is. I would surely recommend this to anyone in need of some light.

03-23-2012- Other Thoughts: This is a very good flashlight. It is surprisingly perfect to hold. It is bright and it truly does float. The button to put it on were easier to push, so if you are have weaker hands, this is the light for you. Also, you can adjust the width of the beam.

02-27-2012- Other Thoughts: This high power flashlight is very bright. It's got more than adequate lighting for any emergency situation. Add to that the fact that its waterproof and you can also clip it on to your belt. I have no complaints. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
