How to Wrap a Hand:
Hand sprain is a painful condition in which ligaments--fibers that connect bone to joints--are maximally stretched. Once the ligaments are stretched, this fiber is tight and may break at any moment. Hand sprains are typically caused by falling on an outstretched hand or playing sports involving the hand, like boxing. The treatment for hand sprain includes wrapping the hand to prevent any more damage to the ligaments. You can also wrap a hand to prevent injuries and add protection when playing sports.
- Instructions
- Make a loop with the elastic bandage. Lift your right hand, with your palm showing, and put your thumb through the loop.
- Wrap the elastic bandage along your wrist three times and turn your hand over with the back your hand showing.
- Wrap the bandage along the back of your hand and between your first finger and thumb.
- Turn your hand over, showing your palms, and wrap the bandage along your knuckles twice.
- Turn your hand over to the back and wrap the bandage across the back of the hand and below your thumb.
- Turn your hand over, with your palms showing, and wrap the bandage along your thumb once and across the back of your hand.
- Wrap the bandage around your wrist, thumb and the back of your hand.
- Turn your hand again with the back of your hand showing. Wrap the bandage between your thumb and second finger.
- Turn your hand with palms showing and wrap the bandage across your knuckles.
- Turn hand over with back of hand showing and wrap the bandage across your wrist and below your thumb.
- Hold the elastic bandage in place and use the silver claw clips to fasten the bandage.
