How to Use Safety Goggles:
- Clean the safety goggles before wearing them for the first time, using a clean, dry cloth, such as an eyeglass cleaning cloth. Clean any debris from the packaging and any smudges that could interfere with visibility
- Slide the goggles over your head. Sit the arched portion between the goggle lenses on the bridge of your nose. Be sure that the rubber strap stretches across the back of your head
- Adjust the fit of the goggles by tightening the adjustable straps on each side. Tighten or loosen the side straps until the goggles seal against your face
- Keep the goggles securely in place for the duration of your project, including cleanup
How to Clean Safety Goggles:
- Blow any loose dirt off the lenses of the safety glasses with your breath. Removing loose particles lessens the chance of scratching the lenses
- Clean safety glasses by using the spray and disposable cloths provided at a glasses cleaning station, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (see reference). You'll find these stations hung on the walls throughout factories and other places that require that safety glasses be worn
- Use alcohol wipes to clean safety glasses if a glasses cleaning station isn't available, the Utah State Office of Education recommends. Wipe off both sides of the lenses first. Then, clean the temples and the rest of the frames
- Wipe the safety glasses clean with a soft cloth to remove any residue or streaks that may be left over. A soft cloth won't scratch or otherwise mar safety glasses
