How to Change a PSP Face Plate:

The Sony PSP is a hand-held video game console that you can customize by replacing its faceplate. This lets you spice up your PSP's look by swapping out the dull black, white or red faceplate with something a little more to your taste. You may also want to replace the faceplate if it's cracked or otherwise damaged

Instructions:

• Turn off your Sony PSP and remove the battery from the device. This will reveal a warranty sticker. Use your tweezers to lift the warranty sticker up to reveal a screw
• Remove the screw you uncovered with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the second screw above the warranty sticker screw. Remove the two screws on the opposite end of the PSP. Remove the last screw on the bottom edge of the PSP
• Gently lift the PSP faceplate off of the PSP. Place the new PSP faceplate onto the PSP, and snap it into place. Place the screws back into the screw holes. Tighten them with the screwdriver
• Place the battery back into the PSP

How to Replace PSP Face Plates:



If the face plate on your PSP is cracked or broken, or if you just want to give it a different look, the old face plate can be taken off and a new one put on without posing much of a hazard to the machine. There are only a few screws securing the face plate to the backing and you don't have to hunt for them. This task can be done in a short time

Instructions:

• Open the UMD (game disc) drive to ensure it's empty. Close the UMD drive
• Turn off the PSP and turn it so the back faces you
• Remove the battery from the PSP
• Extract the screws at the middle-top and the bottom-left areas of the battery compartment
• Extract the five screws from the PSP casing. There are two in the middle part of the top, one in the middle part of the bottom, one at the top-right corner of the backing, and the last at the bottom-right edge of the backing near the memory stick compartment. If you have the PSP Phat (the original model), there are no screws at the top
• Separate the face plate from the backing and turn the face plate over so you can see the inside of it
• Remove the control buttons and the directional pad from the inside of the face plate and install them onto the replacement face plate, unless these components are already installed on the new one
• Perform the procedure in reverse to install the replacement face plate
