How to Reset a Remote Control:
If you want to add another remote control for your garage door opener or need to replace a dead battery and reprogram an existing remote, chances are you'll have to reset the opener with the base unit for it to work. The process involves just a few steps and is relatively easy to do- Replace the battery by opening the remote, taking out the old one(s) and putting in the new one(s). Make sure you buy the right battery for your remote. Match the battery type, size and voltage that came with the remote
- Use a step ladder to access the garage door motorized unit, usually equipped with a safety light. Locate the reset or "learn" button on the unit. Many times, this small button is recessed, so you might need a pen or pencil to reach it
- Push the reset or "learn" button on the opener. While the reset indicator light is blinking for about 30 seconds, point your remote at the opener, then press and hold the remote button that opens the door, and the reset light should stop blinking and glow steady to indicate the controller and opener are now synchronized. If the process doesn't work the first time, try again to make sure you pressed your button during the time when the indicator light is blinking

02-27-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a great, quick and inexpensive way to put the on/off switch right in your hand. I recently installed a small fountain in my landscape near my front door. I ran a new GFI'd electric outlet previously in expectation of a fountain there, but wanted something besides the usual timer for controlling it. After hooking up the fountain... Christmas time and the usual exterior seasonal lights and reindeer were setup. I decided to use this remote solution for those too. Love it! .... no more running outside in the cold to unplug the Christmas lights late at night. <br/> <br/>I do have this under my eaves. I definitely feel more comfortable keeping this in a relatively dry location for an exterior solution. So if you have that type of indoor/outdoor situation this is the ticket for you.

03-15-2011- Other Thoughts: used to reset a cable modem and router, this works as advertized. only con is that the plug doesn't accomodate our flat desktop style surge protector console (had to purchase a short 6-inch extension cord)

04-12-2011- Other Thoughts: Ordered this based on the reviews about the distance this can be used from and it is as advertised. I'm able to turn on a light in the house from the end of my driveway (about 50 ft) so now a light is on when I enter. And it even works when I'm not in direct line of sight to the controller - awesome!

02-15-2011- Other Thoughts: Cheap and it works. What else is there to say? Saw a reviewer complain that it only worked intermittently. That might be because the user was rapid clicking the remote. If you don't allow a good second between clicks, it won't work about half the time. Allow the second - works every time.
