It looks like your camera uses a special lithium-ion battery, and maybe a special charger too. See accessories link on the Kodak pages listed below. You should be able to get the charger from Kodak if it wasn't supplied with your camera or if it got lost. Or better yet, shop around any electronics stores in your area for a generic substitute for the charger.
It really depends on the battery but generally speaking 24 hours is a safe bet. If you have a charger with a light that changes from red to green, for example, then once it changes to green it should be fine.
Turn up the LCD to bright, take photos using the flash, zoom in and out. Turn on date/time, red eye, AF illuminator, auto review and beep. You'll find them all in the setup mode.
