How to Keep a Ring From Turning Your Finger Green:

That awful green color that has developed underneath your latest jewelry piece can be a dead giveaway that you are not wearing a product made of high-quality metal. The green that is forming on your skin is most likely caused by a ring that contains copper; when it comes in contact with your skin, a chemical reaction occurs that causes the green color. This reaction happens more commonly with sterling silver than with gold, but the lower the karats in your gold ring, the greater the likelihood that it has copper in it- Apply clear nail polish to the inside of the ring. A coating of the nail lacquer will prevent the ring's metal alloys from coming in contact with your skin. This is probably one of the most effective solutions and the easiest. If the clear polish wears off, you can always add another layer. It will be completely invisible and will work like magic
- Place a layer of underarm deodorant around your finger where the ring lies. Perspiration can cause a ring that is not of very high quality to turn your finger green. The sweat mixes with the metal alloys and leaves behind a nasty green or black ring, and the deodorant will help prevent perspiration buildup in that area. You can do this each time you wear the ring
- Have your ring electroplated. Silver plating or the application of an imitation rhodium coating will prevent skin exposure to the base metal of the ring. A jeweler can add this extra layer of protection, and it is a solution that can be well worth the money to anyone who has a beloved ring that causes her finger to turn green
- Remove your rings whenever you know you will be coming into contact with water. Swimming, washing your hands and doing dishes can all cause the skin on your finger to turn green underneath your ring. Removing your rings and drying your hands thoroughly after coming into contact with water will prevent this from happening
- Limit acid in your diet. A highly acidic diet can cause your skin to react with the alloys in some metals. Fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes in high concentration can sometimes cause this reaction
How to Clean a Diamond Ring:

If you're diamond ring isn't as sparkling and shiny as it could be, clean it up a bit. Here's how
- Close the drain in the sink
- Soak the ring in a sink filled with hot water
- Fill a small dish - such as a contact lens dish - with window cleaner
- Transfer the ring from the hot water to the dish containing the window cleaner
- Let the ring soak for at least 10 minutes
- Dip an old toothbrush in window cleaner and scrub ring thoroughly for several minutes
- Refill the sink with hot water and soak the ring for a few minutes longer
- Continue scrubbing with the toothbrush, now under a flow of hot water
- Rinse well under hot water
- Repeat, if necessary, until you achieve a brilliant shine

10-18-2011- Other Thoughts: It's really small but still really cool. It has Vongola spelled unlike other rings I have seen. Over all I'm glad I bought it.
