How to Tie the Scarf:
Parisian Knot:
- The most sought-after knot is also one of the most universal. Here's how to tie a scarf in a Parisian knot: Take the scarf in both hands and fold it over lengthwise; drape it around your neck; insert the loose ends through the loop hanging in front of you and pull them through. To learn how to tie a scarf in a once-around knot, drape the scarf around your neck allowing one end to be longer than the other. Take the long end and bring it around your neck and let it fall over your chest. Unlike the Parisian, however, you'll require less of a collar on your jacket because this knot takes up a lot of room. Here's how to tie a scarf in a twice-around knot: Begin as you would with the once-around with both ends hanging in front of you, but make sure one is significantly longer than the other. Take the much longer end and circle it around your neck twice; do this without making the knot too tight. Getting the lengths of the ends to match up or come out relatively close will take a bit of practice, but a knot like this will make all the difference on a cold day. How to Wear a Men's Scarf:
There are many options when it comes to wearing men's scarfs, some sartorial, some just functional. Your style options will change depending on the weather. If it's the middle of winter or you live in a cold climate, warmth will be the primary issue, and you'll want a scarf made out of a heavier material, such as wool. In the spring and fall of more moderate climates, lighter scarfs made out of cotton, silk or cashmere offer more possibilities.
Instructions:
Tying a Heavy Scarf:- You can simply wrap a bulky scarf around your neck a couple of times
- You can also tie it once around your shoulders, if the scarf is bulky enough already
- You can also wrap it once around your neck, then tie a knot right in front of your Adam's apple
- Straighten the end on top and flatten it to look more presentable
Tying a Lighter Scarf:
- You can wrap a lighter scarf once around your neck, or just once over your shoulders
- You can also fold the scarf in half first, creating a looped end and two loose ends, then wrap it around your neck
- Take the loose ends and put them through the loop created by the fold. Pull to tighten the knot until it is comfortable
Washing Method:
- Add a small amount of neutral detergent in cold water, then stir by hand only after the water into the detergent
- Let clothes soak time in the water not more than five minutes
- Hand gently rub scarves, floating clear, but not wrung, and then hang to dry
