How to Change a Bit in an Electric Screwdriver
- Electric screwdrivers make projects much easier than manual screwdrivers. Most come with different bits so that you can use one tool for Phillips head or flathead screws in various sizes. This helpful feature works differently on different screwdrivers
- Push the slide sleeve -- the piece on the end of the screwdriver holding the bit -- into the body of the screwdriver.
- Remove the current bit from the socket. Choose the proper bit, drop it into the socket and release the slide sleeve.
- Screw the tip of the screwdriver counterclockwise if the end doesn't push into the body.
- Screw the end of the screwdriver clockwise to secure the bit in place
