How to Thread a Mini Sewing Machine
- Mini sewing machines can meet simple sewing needs or easily teach young ones to sew. If you recently bought a mini sewing machine, the first thing you need to do (after reading your manual) is to thread your machine. Although each model will vary, they all follow the same basic threading procedure--simply omit steps that do not apply to your machine's design.
- Place the thread on the spool pin.
- Pull the thread so that the thread tugs along the back of the spool pin; otherwise, remove from the pin and reposition so that the thread tugs correctly. Pull along the machine's horizontal arm at the top.
- Place the thread in the machine's thread take-up lever (appears as a hook along a vertical line at the machine's front). Depending on your machine's model, you may also need to tuck it along a hook that appears right before the lever.
- Thread the needle.
- If the machine has a lower bobbin, wind the bobbin and then place it securely in the bobbin plate (under the needle or along the side of the machine).
- Hold the end of the thread in the needle and slowly rotate the needle until it picks up the thread from the lower bobbin. Once the thread comes through the plate, grab the thread from the lower bobbin and pull it the rest of the way through.

05-19-2011- Other Thoughts: It has taken a beating and it still purrs. I now use it for fashion design school, and it continues to work well. I also have a Brother serger. I have no complaints about Brother machines. <br/>I have owned and used other brands of sewing machines, and not too many can compare to this brand.

04-02-2011- Other Thoughts: This machine is great for quilters. Since I am rather new to quilting this machine is very good for what I do now. It is user friendly, takes no time at all to learn the stitches etc. For the price, you can't beat it.

06-07-2011- Other Thoughts: I was amazing surprised at the performance of this machine. The needle threader is the best thing I've seen on a sewing machine. Very lightweight. The presser foot lever is a little akward to use compared to my old machine. Lots of fancy stitches available that I will probably never use but the price was very good. The instruction manual would be better if two languages had not been combined; put english first then have spanish at back. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a new machine.

04-15-2011- Other Thoughts: I use my machine for quilting and it works great. However I was very disappointed to find out that the 1/4" quilting foot was not an accessory that was included by the company. That doesn't make sense to me since they promote this machine as so great for quilting!
