How to Keep Knee Pads On
- Knee pads are commonly thought of as being used in construction-type industries that require a person to be on their knees for long periods of time. However, knee pads have a practical use in sports that are played on hard surfaces. Sports such as basketball don't include much protective equipment and involve the risk of falling on your knees. Other sports such as volleyball and floor hockey may also require the use of knee pads. While wearing knee pads can be advantageous, keeping them from falling off or sliding down is paramount to their effectiveness.
- Fill a bowl up with lukewarm water. Place the knee pads in the water and pull them out.
- Put the knee pads in a dryer and allow them to dry. This breaks the knee pads in as some models tend to expand in size as they are used.
- Slide the pad up your legs until it is in place over the knee.
- Cut a 1 inch slit in the bottom of the knee pad if the pads are already loose.
- Pull one of the edges on the slit over the other edge. Hold it place as you stick the athletic tape on.
- Pull the tape around the bottom of the pad several times before breaking the tape off.
- Repeat the same process at the top of the knee pad if the top remains loose.

06-28-2011- Other Thoughts: This is my second Pearl Izumi bike shorts, I had the liner originally, but this one give a bit better support. This on is stable and doesn't creep up and legs don't rise up. I recommend this to everyone.

I decided to get these based on the great reviews here and as always amazon reviews never disappoint me. <br/> <br/>I ride commando in these and they're really comfortable, the pad covers all the appropriate areas.

05-31-2011- Other Thoughts: These shorts are completely dorky looking (my roller derby sisters called them my "Lego Shorts" because the padding looks like lego blocks all over your butt.) However, if you can get over the constant teasing, they're WONDERFUL. I am a jammer and when I got slammed by two large blockers at the same time, I fell directly on my tailbone and it would have been absolutely shattered if I hadn't had these shorts on. TOTALLY worth buying and wearing. Your butt will thank you!

Good for skating and skiing

05-26-2011- Other Thoughts: I hurt my tailbone once when I did inline skating. Then I decided to find something to protect my butt. Since I wear this padded shorts for skating (both inline skating and ice skating) and skiing, I never got hurt any more. I don't know if this is the best padded shorts, but it works for me. I am really happy about this product.

05-03-2011- Other Thoughts: I came damn close to breaking my tail bone in derby a while back, so I bucked up and bought these padded shorts. I must admit they're pretty damn awesome. I had to trim them down so that they are short-shorts now, but I love them. Lots of falls on the badly bruised tailbone, and zero pain. So take that.
