How to Build a Shower from a Water Hose?

Sometimes all you've got for washing up is a water hose, but that doesn't mean you can't have a decent shower, although it will probably be a cold one. With this simple design, you can build your own outdoor shower in an hour or two, and it's actually pretty cheap too.

• Connect four of the 3-foot-long pieces of PVC pipe using three-way connectors to form a square. Repeat this step with the other four pieces so that you have two 3-by-3-foot squares of PVC pipe.
• Connect one of the 6-foot-long pieces of PVC pipe to each of the four corners of one square. Then, attach these pipes to the four corners of the other square. When you are finished, you should have an open frame that is 3 by 3 feet square and 6 feet tall.
• Glue (or duct tape) the 3 1/2-by-2 1/2-foot piece of plywood to the pipes that form the bottom square of your shower. Make sure the wood sits on top of the pipes and that the wood is centered in the square.
• Attach the shower curtains to the rings. Hang the shower curtains from the top square of PVC pipe so that they stretch all the way around the frame. Duct tape the shower curtains together on one side, leaving the other open as an entrance.
• Place your shower near the hose spigot and pull the end of the hose up to the top of the shower so that the water will fall inside the shower when turned on. Duct tape in place. If desired, attach a screw-on shower head.
