How to Protect Digital Cameras:- Purchase a protective case if your camera doesn't come with one. Ideally, these should be hard enough to withstand a minor impact. If at all possible, it is advisable to find a case which offers some degree of protection from external moisture
- Invest in a lens filter. Damage your lens, and all of your pictures will suffer. Therefore, it is important to protect your camera lenses from scratches and scuffs. If you do get a scratch, simply remove the filter and replace it with a new one
- Protect you LCD display. For a reasonable price you can purchase pop-up shields which both protect the screen from damage, and also provide glare reduction by blocking direct sunlight from reaching the screen
- Protect your camera from water. If you will be doing a lot of outdoor photography where you camera is likely to become wet, or could be submerged in water, it is a good idea to invest in a rain cape and water tight case
- Do not leave your camera unattended in an enclosed vehicle during the hot summer months, where temperatures can reach 150 degrees. When dealing with very cold temperatures, be careful when bringing your camera indoors as condensation can form inside the lens. Digital cameras, like other electronics, do not like extremes in temperature
How to Pick a Protective Camera Case:
- Consider the equipment in the camera case and determine how much space you need. Many times just the camera is in the camera case. Other times lenses, flashes, tripods and other equipment need a safe place within the protective case as well.
- Look for an easy-to-carry bag that's light and fits the needs of the photographer. Large, heavy cases get in the way and are difficult to store. Heavy cases may seem more secure but are often dropped.
- Choose a compartmentalized case to hold many different pieces of equipment. Many cases offer a hook and look style interior that reconfigures to the photographer's taste or needs.
- Buy a case that ideally holds two camera bodies, two or three lenses and a flash unit. A medium-sized bag that holds this equipment and weighs no more than 20 lbs. reduces fatigue on the photographer.
- Inspect the protective camera case for quality workmanship. Solid stitching on soft cases and the ability to partition the interior is essential. Hard cases need strong welds and reinforced corners and edges to protect against rough handling.

03-11-2010- Other Thoughts: These guys are great. Delivery is just when they say and nothing is banged up. The orders have been accurate and when they don't have the item, they get in touch you immediately and offer substitute items. Furthermore, they have a loyalty discount that you should ask about. I am saving $ 50 dollars a month and getting the lowest price with free delivery and next day free delivery, they cannot be beat!!
