How to Place Solar Lights in the Garden
- Use a variety of solar lights. To achieve maximum energy savings and to light all of the areas you wish to illuminate, research all of your options. If you are simply illuminating a pathway or staircase, you could choose staked pathway lights, lanterns or flush pathway lights
- Plan the placement. Most solar lighting is limited only by the sunlight received in each particular area. Avoid placing solar garden lights in shaded areas or locations where other garden structures may block sunlight. The more sunlight your lights receive during the day, the longer they will be illuminated at night
- Assemble the light in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Most solar garden lights simply need to have the lamp attached to the post or posts that accompany it. Lantern-style lamps will need to be hung on the accompanying post
- Install your garden lights. If you are lighting a pathway or staircase, space the lights 5 feet or less from each other. For lights being staked into the ground, you will need to insert the pointed end of the stake and gently press it into position, avoiding rocky soil to prevent damaging the stake. Also avoid pressing directly on the lamp to avoid damaging the light

- Know what type of solar light you are using. Some models use a rechargeable battery that requires replacement approximately once per year
- Solar light installation will enable you to add interest to specific areas of your garden. Decorative lights like globes or sculptured flowers can add nighttime beauty to your landscaping
- Drape strands of solar lights across shrubs and small trees to give your landscaping charm and enchantment. Add solar spotlights to illuminate special areas in your garden; most only require staking into the ground
- LED bulbs in solar lights are not replaceable; however, LED solar lights can last for 25 years or more

02-24-2011- Other Thoughts: These are the best solar garden lights that I have ever purchased. They are a brilliant white and the quality of the lense/relectors makes you think it might be made of glass versus plastic. I would highly recommend them for your garden or walkway.
