How to Enhance Home Audio Systems:
There is no shortage of enhancements for audio systems, consisting of everything from cable lifts to small wooden blocks you place on speakers to absorb resonances. Although the efficacy of those tweaks is often a subject for debate, what is not under much debate are proper set-up methods that can take an average audio system and unleash its sonic potential.- Measure the distance from the listening position to the speakers. Separate the speakers as far from one another as they are from the listening position.
- Place lead shot or sand into hollow metal speaker stands to dramatically increase the stands' weight and mass. Doing so helps to de-couple the speaker from the floor, getting closer to the ideal scenario of a speaker physically detached from its environment.
- Affix a laser pointer to the top of the speaker, perpendicular to the front of the speaker. Secure it with electrical tape. Do so for both speakers. Aim the speaker at the listening position, and mark where the beam strikes with a piece of electrical tape as a reference for the other speaker. This will create the ideal angled positioning of both speakers to maximize audio imaging.
- Screw speaker spikes into the bottom of the speaker or stand to assist in anchoring the speaker, and de-coupling it from the floor. Small protective discs are available for the spikes, if the spikes are used on hardwood floors.
Tips and Warming:
- Always make every effort to make sure the speakers are positioned so the tweeter is at ear level of the listener.

03-18-2011- Other Thoughts: They get your speakers up off the carpet and anchor them to the floor, and although it may just be wishful thinking, the bass seems to be tighter. And more importantly, I think that there is less chance I will annoy the downstairs neighbor with my music. Good product.

01-19-2011- Other Thoughts: These are suitable for penetrating standard carpeting. I purchased the shorter ones and they would be more suitable for tile or hardwood using the included bases. The shorter ones were too short and stocky to be certain that there was proper contact with the subfloor. Being taller and not as wide with more a narrower point, its very obvious, that the point penetrated thru both the carpet backing and padding. The shorter ones weren't tall enough to ensure optimal isolation thru standard pile carpeting. I doubt there was any pentration thru the backing much less the padding. <br/> <br/>Anyway easy to install. A 5mm hex key is needed. English hex keys will round out inside the insert. <br/> <br/>Spikes are chrome and the bases are a dirty nickel as shown in the pictures. They are not black, more like a metallic grey.

12-27-2010- Other Thoughts: I ORDERD YOUR SMALL SPIKED FEET ALONG WITH YOUR SPEAKER SPIKED FEET AND WAS WELL PLEASED WITH GREAT QUALITY. I USED THEM UNDER MY PRE-AMP AND MADE A GREAT DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY. PLACED THEM IN A GROUP OF THREE INSTEAD OF FOUR WHICH MAKES LEVELING NOT AN ISSUE. THE STICKY DISCS THAT WERE PROVIDED MADE INSTALLATION A BREEZE. LOOKING FORWARD TO ORDERING MORE FOR MY OTHER COMPONETS. THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE!
