How to Make a Picnic Set:
- Find a picnic set carrier. You can use a backpack you already own or a basket with a lid from your local craft store. Make sure your picnic set carrier is large enough to hold everything you need for the perfect picnic
- Purchase items that won't break. Unlike your dishes at home, picnic plates are jostled about in the carrier and may be set down on the ground more often than on a table. If you don't have plastic dishes at home, you can purchase them at any large discount store
- Customize dish purchases for your picnic needs. If there are three people in your family, buy three of everything--three plates, three bowls (for fruit salad or dessert), three cups, three napkins and three sets of flatware. If you're planning a series of romantic picnics for two, buy two of each dish and utensil, and add a pair of unbreakable wine goblets. If there are five people in your family, make sure to buy a backpack or lidded basket that can fit five of each item
- Pack extra gadgets. A corkscrew is essential to any picnic set, especially for picnics for two. A paring knife is handy for slicing fruit or cheese on-site, and a small cheeseboard also works as a cutting board
- Include basic condiments. Small, unbreakable salt and pepper shakers are useful--make sure they have sealable lids or tops so the salt and pepper don't spill. Throw in a handful of individual packets of mustard, ketchup and relish. They don't need refrigeration and weigh much less than a full jar or bottle, which isn't likely to be emptied in one picnic anyway
- Repel unwanted guests. A small bottle of insect repellent could make the difference between a pleasant picnic and an itchy one. Add a fly strip, just in case you decide to picnic under a tree with low-hanging branches to hook it to
- Add cleanup supplies. Moist wipes to clean sticky or greasy hands are a must. Pack sealable plastic bags for your dirty dishes in; you don't want to soil the inside of your carrier. Include a garbage bag for throwaway trash, such as fruit cores, fried chicken bones, soda bottles or cans
How to Have a Romantic Picnic:
- Pack your picnic basket with a cloth, a shrimp ring and sauce, an assortment of cheese and crackers, beverages and nice glasses, and chocolate covered strawberries
- Take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or other scenic drive. Once you have located a romantic spot, park your vehicle and carry the picnic basket filled with goodies to a nice flat area
- Spread the cloth on the ground. Take the assortment of foods and beverages out and arrange them in an attractive manner. Take turns feeding each other shrimp. The act of putting food in your lover's mouth can be very exciting
- Eat the food and drink the beverages, saving the chocolate covered strawberries for last. Feed them to each other slowly. Savor the taste and texture of the fruit. Lick the chocolate off each others fingertips and kiss often
- Take a romantic walk, holding hands, and talking. The end to your romantic picnic is up to you. I hope that it will connect the two of you in the ways that you desire

05-12-2011- Other Thoughts: Great for someone just starting out. Far superior to the extremely cheap Wal-Mart/Target dishes. Very durable, very inexpensive, and the set looks fine.

04-12-2011- Other Thoughts: True, metal dinnerware is gong to be a lot more sturdy than plastic or glass. Doesn't shatter, don't have to worry about plastic byproducts leaching in food. However, you can't microwave with these sets, so you cannot just put saran wrap over the unused portion and put it in the microwave the next day. It does have a very utilitarian design as well. Not particularly fun loving nor cute design - very sterile looking actually. The set does hold up well in the dishwasher so far, no discoloring nor excessive spottiness. The cup handle could be better... it's not brushed smooth like the rest of the set.

04-07-2011- Other Thoughts: The Dinnerware Set is pretty basic but it can be complemented separately; a plate, a bowl and a mug are included, all made of stainless steel which pretty much guarantees these are durable and will be around for a while.
