How to Use Digital Thermometers:
Having a temperature is indicative of an infection or an illness your body is trying to fight off. You need to use a thermometer to find out if you have a fever and how serious it is. Your doctor or pediatrician will ask you for this information when you call. One of the easiest ways to take your temperature is to use a digital thermometer. The temperature is displayed on a screen in numbers that can be read quickly and accurately- Take the thermometer out of its protective cover and wash the tip of it with some warm soapy water. Then dry it off with a paper towel
- Place the digital thermometer on the back of your tongue and close your mouth
- Press the button on the thermometer so that it will begin taking your temperature
- Remove the thermometer from your mouth when it beeps
- Read the degrees on your thermometer. If your temperature is over 98.6 degrees, you may have a fever
- Replace the digital thermometer in its protective case
Tips & Warnings:
- You can also wash your digital thermometer tip with rubbing alcohol instead of warm soapy water. You can take your temperature rectally. If you do, you must subtract a degree from the screen to get your correct temperature. You can take your temperature in your arm pit. If you do, you must add a degree to the screen to get your correct temperature

04-05-2011- Other Thoughts: I and my professional barbecue team partners have been using three of these units (same model)for a year and a half, with no problems and usage of an average of 45 events per year/40 tests per event. Just use average, sensible care and they work well. I suspect that some of the users who rate these poorly do not have experience and the sense to utilize them the way they are intended. A fine product for the money. Even if I got a year out of each of them, they would be an accurate bargain.

03-22-2011- Other Thoughts: :I bought my thermometer about a year ago and have used it to cook beef and chicken to perfection. No more dry meat whether it is in the oven or in a smoker or grill. Then I tried it to make fudge. Best fudge I've ever made and the temperatures were very accurate.

03-07-2011- Other Thoughts: I am a big fan of probe thermometers, and I have owned and ruined several of them; each a different brand. It is the most accurate and can withstand high heat - best on the market in this price range. I have owned this thermometer for over a year now, and in this time it has: <br/>1. Been rained on at least 5 times. <br/>2. Dropped in our pool. <br/>3. Been hidden in our sandbox. <br/>4. Been dropped on hot coals and backing partially melted. <br/>Each time this thermometer has miraculously come back to life and worked perfectly! The original battery is still going.

02-02-2011- Other Thoughts: A very nice outdoor digital thermometer, very simple to use, to read and pretty accurate for a thermometer of this price; at least it is more accurate than the local weather company. Made in China, try to don't drop it. I use it in my Japanese soaking tub to set the temp and it is accurate.

They provide some of the best prices on the Internet, have excellent shipping options, and their customer service has been excellent. I've had to return a few items and you can print a shipping label and send it back on their dime (for defective products) and they will give you a price adjustment if your product arrives in less then new condition (cosmetic defects, for example). Overall, they are one of the best and more trusted retailers on the Internet today and I recommend looking at them first when purchasing any product.

07-24-2009- Other Thoughts: This is a really multi-function item. Altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, clock and Calendar, weather forcast functions included. At such a price you get so many functions, it is really a good deal for me. And all the functions have worked great for till now. I like it.
