Making a decorative tissue box cover to display in your home is a very simple craft project. Plain plastic or wood tissue box covers are available at most bed and bath, craft or discount stores. It is easy to transform these plain tissue box covers into decor that will match the style and colors in each room of your home. You can even make seasonal tissue boxes to display in your home to coordinate with different holiday themes. It only takes a few supplies to transform the box into a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

• Spread out some old newspapers on your work space so that you will not get decoupage glue on it.
• Decide on the theme of the room and the colors that you will need to coordinate with. You can find all kinds of pictures to cut out of magazines to decorate your tissue box cover. Alternately, you can choose photographs of members of your family or your pet, make copies of them, and use them as a photo collage on your tissue box cover.
• Cut out and trim the selected pictures; and place them on your plain tissue box cover to decide on the layout.
• Use a foam sponge brush to spread a small amount of decoupage glue onto the back of the picture and place it onto the area you decided upon.
• Repeat the action until you have covered the tissue box. You may wish to cover the entire box and overlap your pictures or to leave space in between them; the design is up to you.
• Allow the pictures to dry thoroughly and then coat your tissue box cover with two or three layers of decoupage glue, allowing each to dry overnight before applying the next coat. This will give your tissue box cover a protective sealant and a glossy shine.
