How to Measure:
How to Clean Smooth Leather Shoes:- Remove dirt by cleaning with leather cleaner made specifically for smooth leathers. You can use saddle soap or a smooth leather shoe cleaner
- Shoe cleaners come in gels, foams, sprays, liquids and creams. Many leather cleaners come with an applicator top, or you can use a soft shoe brush to aid in removing dirt from the surface of the shoe. This will also help to remove dirt from any cracks in the shoes
- After cleaning, let the shoes dry for a few minutes and begin shining the shoes with a soft cotton cloth - either a shoe shine cloth, or even an old t-shirt, as long as it's soft and made of cotton
How to Condition Leather Shoes:
- Conditioning your leather shoes will help soften and moisturize the leather, and protect it from drying out and cracking. Certain types of leather, and shoes worn in dryer climates might need to be conditioned more often
- Some shoe cleaning products will clean and condition your shoes, but if you want your shoes to get the full treatment, or used a product specifically for cleaning, the next step is to condition your smooth leather shoes
- Of course, you'll want a conditioner made for the specific type of shoe you're working on. Also, look for a natural conditioner that is absorbed into the material of the shoe, as opposed to a synthetic conditioner that sits on top of the surface
- Rub small amounts of conditioner into the shoe, until the entire shoe has been covered with conditioner. After a couple of minutes, wipe any remaining conditioner off of the shoes, as the leather will only absorb what it can
How to Protect Your Shoes:
- I suggest purchasing a waterproofing spray and applying it to your shoes IMMEDIATELY after you buy them. Yes, that means before you ever stick your feet inside of them. I know, I know. The sales people at Finish Line have tried to sell you this stuff before. But guess what? It actually works
- Water repellents work by essentially clogging the pores of materials that your shoes are made out of. Of course, when water can not find its way into the pores of your shoes, there is no way for the pores of your shoes to expand and contract. That means your new Sperry topsiders will be more resilient and will last far longer than they would having not been waterproofed
How to Waterproof Shoes:
- Simple. Start to buy pulling your shoes of their box. I usually make sure mine aren't laced, although it is not a huge deal. Next, find a well ventilated area. Lay down some newspaper/tarp/notebooks/whatever to make sure you don't stain the area around where you are spraying. Hold the can of waterproofing spray 8-12 inches away from the shoes and spray away! Be generous, but make sure you aren't soaking the shoe. In fact, plan on at least 2 coats. Make sure you let your shoes completely dry between coats; it should take around 10 or 15 minutes

01-13-2011- Other Thoughts: Finally a great pair of shoes that my daughter would not want to get out of. The thread at the front broke from wear and tear, which is unfortunate, but at least I know my daughter got a lot of fun out of wearing them. They seemed comfortable, light, and solid at the same time. Pity they don't make them in bigger sizes!

02-24-2011- Other Thoughts: My daughter started walking at 10 mo and was running arnd by the time she was 1 yr old... Though she was great barefoot or with socks on, she would trip when we put shoes on her, so I would let her play barefoot for the most part cause I didnt want her falling all over the place. I ordered these shoes recently and my are they wonderful. She hasnt fallen with these shoes on! She walks and runs like she used to with no shoes on... They are light and easy to put on as well... Would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!

01-26-2011- Other Thoughts: You will not find a pair of shoes like this at THIS GREAT PRICE... Getting the perfect fit and walk for my little girl is very important. Kids go through shoes very fast so you need to find the perfect shoe at the perfect price. I would recommend this pair of shoes any time. They are very comfortable and flexible on a babie's feet. I plan to keep buying this kind of shoes for her!
