• Specifications:

    • This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes
    • Decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, in turn helping to separate subjects from their background
    • This 67mm camera lens filter allows picture and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes that can cause overexposure
    • The UV camera lens filter can absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region
    • It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles
    • The 67mm camera lens filter has no effect on exposure and little effect on color temperature. It can be used as a protective filter
    • Size: 67mm / 2.6in(Dia.)

    What's the Camera Lens Filters:

    • Camera lens filters still have many uses in digital photography, and should be an important part of any photographer's camera bag. These can include polarizing filters to reduce glare and improve saturation, or simple UV/haze filters to provide extra protection for the front of your lens

    Lens Filter Type:

    • The most commonly used filters for digital photography include polarizing (linear/circular), UV/haze, neutral density, graduated neutral density and warming/cooling or color filters
    • Example uses for each are listed below:

    Filter Type

    Primary Use

    Common Subject Matter

    Linear & Circular Polarizers

    Reduce Glare Improve Saturation

Sky / Water / Foliage in Landscape Photography

    Neutral Density (ND)

    Graduated Neutral Density (GND)

Control Strong Light Gradients Reduce Vignetting

    Dramatically Lit Landscapes

    Problems with Lens Filters:

    • Filters should only be used when necessary because they can also adversely affect the image. Since they effectively introduce an additional piece of glass between your camera's sensor and the subject, they have the potential to reduce image quality. This usually comes in the form of either a slight color tint, a reduction in local or overall image contrast, or ghosting and increased lens flare caused by light inadvertently reflecting off the inside of the filter
    • Filters may also introduce physical vignetting (light fall-off or blackening at the edges of the image) if their opaque edge gets in the way of light entering the lens (right example). This was created by stacking a polarizing filter on top of a UV filter while also using a wide angle lens-causing the edges of the outermost filter to get in the way of the image. Stacking filters therefore has the potential to make all of the above problems much worse

Note on Choosing a Filter Size for a Camera Lens:

    • Lens filters generally come in two varieties: screw-on and front filters. Front filters are more flexible because they can be used on virtually any lens diameter, however these may also be more cumbersome to use since they may need to be held in front of the lens. On the other hand, filter holder kits are available that can improve this process. Screw-on filters can provide an air-tight seal when needed for protection, and cannot accidentally move relative to the lens during composure. The main disadvantage is that a given screw-on filter will only work with a specific lens size
    • The size of a screw-on filter is expressed in terms of its diameter, which corresponds to the diameter usually listed on the top or front of your camera lens. This diameter is listed in millimeters and usually ranges from about 46 to 82 mm for digital SLR cameras. Step-up or step-down adapters can enable a given filter size to be used on a lens with a smaller or larger diameter, respectively. However, step-down filter adapters may introduce substantial vignetting (since the filter may block light at the edges of the lens), whereas step-up adapters mean that your filter is much larger (and potentially more cumbersome) than is required
    • The height of the filter edges may also be important. Ultra-thin and other special filters are designed so that they can be used on wide angle lenses without vignetting. On the other hand, these may also be much more expensive and often do not have threads on the outside to accept another filter (or sometimes even the lens cap)

perfect!

Nice lens filter kit. Contains a good assortment of much needed filters, including a clear UV for all-time lens protection. I bought the 67mm for my Nikkor lenses and feel they're an excellent buy for the price. "Name brands" are a lot more expensive and really don't provide much more to compensate for the difference in prices. I would definitely buy these again!

great price!

El cheapo starter kit - nice to play with the filters. Even though the pack claims the filters are multi coated, they seem to be pretty reflective, including the UV filter - it seems to be just a glass, no coating, much more reflective than my Hoya UV(0) anyways.

The kit comes with a box for storing filters, with a red fabric inside that leaves small red bristles on the glass.

great buy!

This filter set is of fair quality. The glass seems to be of high quality, but the coating is minimal, at best. It does not have a greenish or bluish taint that is typical of coated filters. I have used the UV on a Nikon lens. So far I have noticed almost no difference with or without the filter -- a good sign. The polarizer seems to be doing what it is supposed to do as well -- darkening the sky and reduce reflections. Given the fact that the price is very reasonable, I would recommend it to those of you who are looking for a set of inexpensive starter filters.

love it!

For the price, these filters are hard to beat. I can't see that they're coated as specified, but for glass (not cheap plastic) filters with a carrying case, their price and performance are quite adequate. My one qualm: the fluorescent and polarized filters screw on with no difficulty, but the UV filter was difficult. The threading seemed to be a little messed up, but it became easier after I tried the other two filters.

great!

I've not had any filters before so I can't make a comparison, however i can tell you my experience. For digital the florescent filter is useless. The UV filter creates lens flare even with a hood on when you get near a flat angle with the sun. More so than without it. Is this bad or typical? Couldn't tell you. The Polarizing filter is actually very helpful on my D90. It seems to allow a little better metering especially in high light situations. Never would us in indoors so couldn't say how that would work out.

Multi-Coated Filters
00:00:00 03-14-2011
Purchased these specific for use of one wedding, who wanted all her pictures to have a "purple haze" look to them. (Didn't ask why). Another setting was a Senior who wanted his pictures to be a little darker due to his skin being so white. Used the smoke tint, which did the job well. Financially, these were well worth it, as they didn't cost that much to purchase on Amazon. Great Buy!

UV Camera Lens Filter
00:00:00 03-08-2011
I have four set of Zeikos 3 set filters, different sizes because i have a lot of lens. This are the 3 basic filters and a must need for great pictures most of the time and they are great lens protectors. The price is always low for this units and they come with a good hard case and they have long life and above all they work very good.

67mm Camera Lens Filter

Fits a Canon 60D nicely. Wouldn't recommend screwing on too tightly as they are very difficult to remove if you do! Seem to do their job as described. Have used inside in a children's museum and outside at a zoo and pics came out terrific!
