How to Hook Up Rear View Cameras?
Each year, hundreds of people are killed and thousands are injured in backup accidents. According to an article in the New York Times more than 14,000 people were injured and 221 people were killed in backup accidents in 2007. Many of those killed and injured were children because their height makes it difficult to see them. With new wireless camera technology, installing a backup camera in your vehicle is now easier than ever, and backup camera systems can be purchased online for less than $100.
Instructions:
Camera Installation
1. Open your trunk or tailgate and decide how you will route the wire from the camera to the backup lamp in your tail-light assembly. The camera mounts on the bottom of your license plate and is powered by the backup lamp inside of your tail-light assembly. In most cases, you will route the wire behind the license plate and up to an opening in your trunk.
2. Access the backup lamp wires; these are the wires that will power the camera. Typically there is an access cover inside the trunk that allows you to remove the backup lamp for replacement. The backup lamp is clear and has two wires going to it; one is the 12 volt wire and the other is the ground.
3. Mount the camera to your license plate and route the wires from the camera to the tail-light area.
4. Connect the wires from the camera to the backup lamp wires using the wire spices that were included with your camera. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to insure you connect the camera wires to the correct polarity wires on the backup lamp. Close the tail-light access panel.
Monitor Installation:
1. Select an appropriate location for the monitor. You may install the monitor on the dash or on the windshield, but make sure you have good visibility through the windshield and do not obstruct your view of the instrument cluster, radio or any other device you will need while driving. When selecting a location, keep in mind once the monitor is installed it is difficult to remove.
2. Thoroughly clean the area with window cleaner and allow it to completely dry.
3. Remove the protective paper from the base of the monitor mount and place the monitor mount on the selected location. Press firmly for 60 seconds to insure a good bond.
4. Attach the monitor to the mount and plug the monitor into your cigarette lighter.Package Included:

Watching the Car Rear View Camera with all the time, date, speed and 'G' annotation alongside the googlemaps moving display impressed even my long-suffering girlfriend Jane. <br/>Reasonably sharp video quality.

10-04-2010- Other Thoughts: I received this Car DVR Camera very quickly and in very good condition, So far I am pleased with my purchase. All the parts were included, also there was a quick start guide that was very clear and helped me set up the cameras. The new hidden camcorder digital clock DVR works very well, easy to install. Everything seems to be working fine so far.

10-02-2009- Other Thoughts: Great Car DVR and sound quality. My computer recognizes the Car DVR as soon as it plugs in. Seller could have gotten it to me a little faster than they did. It took several days to get it from the time I ordered it. Heavy duty and nice and stylish looking. No one would ever know it was a video camera. It is that well disguised and stylish. I like it!
