    • Shut off power before this home improvement project. Although most doorbells are wired with low voltage, some are not. Turning off the power is one of the most important things you can do when you are working with electricity
    • Locate the doorbell chime inside your house. This is usually found at the top of the inside of a closet
    • Remove old hardware if necessary
    • Follow manufacture specifications for wiring. This will ensure that the door bell is wired correctly

    • Turn on the power

1. The chime is battery operated - it doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet. <br/>2. It has a volume control that can be set anywhere from silent to very loud. <br/>3. It can't be double rung - if someone presses the button twice or three times quickly in succession, the chime only rings once.

We have a large, split-level home. When we're in the basement we can't hear the front doorbell, so two years ago my husband installed a second doorbell from a different manufacturer. It broke last month, which was rather surprising since the bell honestly didn't get that much use.

Found this set up very easy to install, and the chime is sufficiently loud to be hear through out my large home. Some reviews talk about distance - it's working fine at 70feet and four walls for me.
