How to Replace Windshield Wiper Blades:
- Look up your vehicle's make and model in the reference books where wiper blades are sold. This reference will provide you with the correct model of blade to purchase
- Open the package containing the new windshield wiper blade. The package should include up to three or four different styles of blade attachment'the small plastic piece that secures the new blade to the wiper arm
- Examine the existing attachment (where the arm and the blade meet), then find a new one in your package that matches it
- Grasp the windshield wiper arm and pull up, away from the car. The blade and arm should now be sticking out perpendicular to the window
- Remove the windshield wiper blade from the arm at the attachment. There will usually be a small tab you can depress with a screwdriver that will allow you to pull the blade from the arm. Some attachments have a small metal bump and two tabs on either side; you depress the tabs and pull hard to remove the blade. Some just snap onto the blade
- Remove the old attachment from the wiper blade and replace it with the new one
- Install the blade onto the windshield wiper arm
- Test by turning on the wipers. If the blades slip, turn off the wipers and seat the attachments more firmly
How to Replace Windshield Wipers in a VW Passat:
After frequent use, the windshield wipers on a Volkswagon Passat start to dull and may make a scraping sound. Since this affects how well you can see out of your windshield, you should replace them immediately- Order your Tripledge replacement wiper set for your VW Passat. If you have a Passat manufactured from 1999 to 2006, then you can order the set that includes the 21-inch driver and passenger side wipers. If your model Passat has a rear wiper, you're going to choose the 15-inch wiper as well. Buy from Tripledge's website or at a local Wal-Mart
- Start your car. You want to get your wipers in an easy to reach position, so you'll want to turn off the engine when they arrive in a vertical position. Clean the windshield with glass cleaner and pull the wipers away from the glass
- Use pliers to get rid of the old set of wipers on your VW Passat. Pinch the end adapter of your VW Passat's wipers and turn it away from the rubber section. Manually slide out the wipers after bending the adapter tab
- Glide the new windshield wipers into place. If you need to cut off any excess, you can use a sharp pair of scissors. Secure the new wiper by using the pliers to move the adapter back into place

03-02-2011- Other Thoughts: Wiper Blades are the BEST we have ever had. Have not used them in the Summer, but all thru the Fall & Winter they have out performed all other brands I have used over some 50+ years of driving. They cost a little more, but they are the BEST!
