How to Make Velcro Waist Belts:

• Use the measuring tape to measure your waist. Cut two strips of fabric that are as long as your waist, plus an additional six inches. These strips should be as wide as you wish your belt to be, plus a 1/4 inch seam allowance on both sides
• Measure and cut two strips of interfacing. These strips must be slightly shorter and skinnier than the fabric so they do not cover the seam allowance. Sew the interfacing to the wrong sides of the fabric strips. Then sew the strips together with the correct sides facing each other, leaving one end open. Turn the belt inside out so the correct sides of the fabric are facing outward. Sew the final opening closed
• Wrap the belt around your waist, with one end overlapping the other. Mark the place that the top end overlaps the bottom end where the belt fits best. Cut a rectangle from the hook and loop tape. Sew the softer loop portion over the place you marked on the bottom end of the fabric. Sew the prickly hook part slightly inwards from the edge of the top end
