How to Clean Touchscreen Phones:

Touchscreen phones enable you to do everything through the screen instead of a keypad, giving you a pop-up keypad display to use when you need to dial a number, send a text message or browse the Internet. Since the only way to use your phone is to continuously touch the screen itself, it quickly becomes soiled with dust, fingerprints and body oils, leaving you in need of a cleaning routine for the phone

Instructions

• Turn off the touchscreen phone and detach any chargers or other plugged-in devices
• Wipe the entire phone down with a microfiber cloth. Wrap the phone in the cloth while wiping so your fingerprints do not rub off onto other areas of the phone while cleaning
• Rub the screen gently, paying special attention to this area as this is where the most residue accumulates. Rub over the screen with the microfiber cloth in small circular motions as you would to buff out any residue or fingerprints
• Place a screen protector, which can you can buy from any cell-phone provider, over the phone. These protectors stick on and are easily removed, but give you an added layer of protection which keeps the phone screen itself safe from buildup. Replace the screen protector as needed

How to Remove Cell Phone Screen Scratches:

Cell phone screens are easily scratched. This is especially true of cell phones that have screens that are exposed all the time. Items like keys, coins and writing utensils are among some of the more common things that scratch cell phones. But a scratched screen does not have to stay that way

• Cut the microfiber cloth to approximately the size of a cell phone. It is best to cut several pieces so that you will have cloths that can be used later
• Combine 1 egg white with approximately 1 tsp. of alum in a small saucepan. Mix the ingredients and heat them to about 150 degrees F. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature of the mixture. Do not remove the mixture from the heat until the egg white and alum have completely mixed
• Take one of the small pieces of microfiber cloth and immerse it in the mixture. Let it sit in the mixture for one minute so it can absorb as much of the mixture as possible
• Tear a sheet of aluminum foil and place the soaked cloth on top of it. Fold the foil around the cloth and put it in an oven heated to 300 degrees F. Leave the cloth in the oven until it is dry
• Remove the cloth and rinse it under a cold tap for about 30 seconds
• Repeat steps 3 and 4 about three times. After the third time, let the cloth air out until it is completely dry. This could take up to 48 hours
• Rub the screen of your cell phone with the cloth. The mixture will decrease the appearance and the depth of the scratches on the cell phone. You now have removed cell phone screen scratches
