    Information About Water Guns:

    Key Figures:

    • While he did not invent the original water gun, Lonnie G. Johnson is credited as the inventor of the Super Soaker. Johnson and his partner Bruce D'Andrade were granted a patent in 1991 for the Super Soaker prototype they created in 1989. Johnson held a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and master's in nuclear engineering, both from Tuskegee University. Aside from the Super Soaker, Johnson's accomplishments include his assistance with NASA's Mars Observer project and the Galileo Jupiter probe, a remote-control robot named Linex and over 40 patents

    • Water guns come in many sizes, shapes and colors. While the shapes of some water guns often resemble real guns, others' shapes mimic fictional weapons from movies, television or comics. Another differentiation between water gun types is how the water is released. Some water guns, like Super Soakers, require a pumping action. Other water guns require the user to rapidly pull a trigger or are battery operated, also known as electric powered

    • Water guns are meant for fun and entertainment. In fact, there are many games that can be played individually or with a group. An individual can play with a water gun alone by squirting targets. Aside from the whimsical backyard water gun fight, group water gun play can be quite elaborate. One popular water gun game is called assassin. In assassin, players individually stalk one another and eliminate other players by performing a backstab, which is shooting someone in the back, or an execution, shooting someone in the legs and then the head. The game ends when there is one player left

    Alternate Uses:

    • Water guns can also be used to train pets. Both dogs are cats are commonly trained using water guns or squirt bottles as a method to correct unwanted or inappropriate behavior. The Rohnert Park Animal Shelter suggests using water guns to keep cats from clawing furniture. According to the shelter, you should squirt the clawing cat while it is in the act without letting it see you do the squirting. The cat will associate clawing, rather than the owner, with the negative response

    • Water guns are essentially a type of toy gun, and this may cause concerns for some parents and child educators. Dr. Alvin Poussaint and Susan Linn, authors of "Toy Guns: Just Fun and Games?" encourage parents not to buy toy guns for their children because it sends the message that they approve of violence

    • Take appropriate safety measures when using a water gun. Water guns should not be used to harm others. Avoid squirting people in the eyes or putting inappropriate liquids inside of a water gun. It is also unwise to squirt people who are not participating in a water gun game, stray animals or wild animals that can be easily upset

How to Have a Water Gun Fight:

    • Invite your friends and family to the water gun fight. Inform them of the date and time. Make sure they have their own water guns or that you have enough to go around
    • Set up bunkers and hills for people to hide or use for cover. Make it a strategic war game. Having a water gun fight in a wooded area will add to the fun
    • Inform everyone of the rules on the day of the game. The rules should include the boundaries and anything that will result in disqualification
    • Divide all the people into two teams for the water gun fight. Have each team wear a specific color or market to identify themselves and their team
    • Provide a water hose for easy refills. Leave it on to save time when refilling your water gun. The water hose is a safe zone during the water gun fight
    • Keep fighting until every member of one team is out. If it comes down to one-on-one, then have a shootout to complete the water gun fight

How to Play With Water Guns:

    Best Water Gun

    Filling the Gun:

    • Pull out the fill plug connected to the reservoir, which is the part of the gun that holds water. If the gun has a reservoir cap, turn it left to twist it off
    • Hold the opening to the reservoir under a faucet or hose and fill it completely, until water flows out of the reservoir. Alternatively, submerge the gun in a tub or bucket of water
    • Push in the fill plug until it snaps in place, or screw on the reservoir cap with turns to the right
    • Point the nozzle at your target and pull the trigger. If the gun has a pump, quickly pull it back and forth a few times before pulling the trigger
    • Shoot at your targets until the water gun is empty
    • Reload with water

    Games to Play:

    • Spelling Bee: Choose someone to call out one word at a time. Each person has 20 seconds to spell the word correctly. Shoot the person who misspells a word
    • Scavenger Hunt: Fill several water guns and hide them before the group arrives. Have players search for the water guns. Players who do not find any guns attempt to run to the designated safe area without getting wet
    • Birthdays: Create two teams to take turns calling out random months. If your birthday is in the month called by the opposing team, you are the target. Put down your water gun; your teammates' goal is to protect the target from getting shot

    Tips & Warnings:

    • If playing with young children, include a rule not to spray in the face. Children are sensitive to water in their eyes
    • Decide on a play location before your group fills the water guns. An open area works best for running
    • Determine how large the group will be before the scavenger hunt begins to get an idea of how many water guns to fill
    • Use a quick fill cap for faster reload if your water gun has one
    • To avoid injury, do not use hot water and refrain from aiming at the face, eyes or ears
    • Use water only; do not use dyes and chemicals

    Package Included:

    • 1 x Plastic Pressure Water Squirt Gun with a Knapsack

This water gun is very cool. Bought it to play outside in the summer heat with friends. It's cool that you can switch the stream from forward to left and right.

If you play WITH your child, is worth it, given it is hard to refill for a young child. But it is also solidly built, and isn't a WATER GUN but a WATER BLASTER.

The guns maybe small but there stealth sized. The only thing I don't like about these guns is that you half to pump them. But it fills up fast. Buy these guns.

great toy

This is a great toy. My 3 1/2 year old can use it and he shoots about 15-20 feet with it. I can shoot it about 30 feet. It's accurate. It keeps the squirrels out of our garden!

good value

I got these for my son's 4th birthday party. They all worked fine and lasted well for the party. I think they're pretty good value. Not great range, so probably not so good for older children
