How to Select a Video Capture Card:

• Determine the type of PC expansion slot that you will plug your video capture card into your computer. • We bought four of these for use with dental cameras. There was some odd behavior at first just getting the drivers to work and integrate with the dental software, but once we got it figured out they work just fine. I am pleased with this Video Capture Card.

• I needed something to use with game consoles and looking around this seemed to be the best for the price. Using TVtime I have no problems. I was afraid if I hooked up multiple devices it would drop my fps, but I'm guessing it will only do that if you try to view each one simultaneously, with TVtime I can cycle through the inputs and get full fps on each one. I'm excited about this since it worked effectively.

• All four ports will work if you modify your Modprobe.conf file to accurately represent the card. Do some research online to find this fix. No drivers are needed, and its just plug and play.

• I choose to use the capture preveiw function of Virtualdub instead. I primarily use this card to play video game consoles through my computer moniter, so i need to veiw the video without any delay. virtualdub supports realtime playback. nice 16 Channel DVR

• Using VLC there is a 1-2 second delay in the playback, but the image quality is higher. totally it is a good DVR PCI

• This is excellent Video Capture Card, however the factory software is not compatible with windos vista. I was able to use the card anyway using the opensource programs VLC media player, and Virtual dub.
