How to Install a Touch Screen Monitor in your Car:

Touch screen monitors put your car audio and video choices literally at your fingertips. Once you install a touch screen monitor in your car, you will be able to choose between audio and video options, change radio stations and CDs and access your car's navigation system without having to deal with the small buttons of the tuner or a remote control.
- Check out your car's dashboard. Figure out if you have a double DIN or a single DIN dash setup. If you have a double DIN setup, you can install a flush touch screen monitor system. If you have a single DIN setup, you will need the touch screen monitor that flips up.
- Buy the appropriate installation kit and wiring harness. Dealers in car audio and video systems sell these for use in aftermarket installations. If there is no installation kit available for your vehicle, you may need to make major alterations to your dash to install the monitor. If this is the case, consider hiring a professional installer.
- Disconnect the battery cables from the battery with a wrench or socket. Check the car's repair manual to find which size wrench or socket to use.
- Remove the old stereo. You may need to remove dash panels to do this. See your car's repair manual for dash-panel removal instructions. Remove any mounting screws and slide the stereo out of the dash. Disconnect the wire plugs and antenna from the back of the old stereo.
- Insert the touch screen monitor into the installation kit. Make sure it's seated securely so it won't slide out.
- Connect the wire plugs to the touch screen monitor using the wiring harness. Connect the antenna cable to the antenna input on the back of the touch screen monitor system as well. If you have an A/V selector box connected to other monitors, connect the A/V cable to the touch screen monitor. If you're not sure which cable goes to what port, check the touch screen monitor's user manual.
- Insert the touch screen monitor housing in the dash. Put any required screws in and tighten them. Replace any dash panels that you removed.
- Reconnect the battery cables and start the car. Turn on the touch screen monitor. If you installed the monitor correctly, the screen will light up.
Tips & Warnings:

- If you're not confident in your ability to install the monitor in your car, hire a professional installer.
- If you do not use a wiring harness for installation, check the car's repair manual for the wiring diagram when you connect the wires.
- Do not install the monitor while the battery is connected. Ignoring this rule puts you at risk of a serious electric shock.
