How to Repair an NDSL Top Screen?

The Nintendo DS Lite is a handheld gaming system developed by Nintendo. The system featuring two screens, which come in handy on most DS games. Many games are impossible to play without a top screen, due to missing information. When the screen is cracked, black liquid seeps onto the screen, permanently damaging it. The best way to repair the system is to send your Nintendo DS Lite to Nintendo.

• Navigate to Nintendo's DS Lite Troubleshooting and Repair website (see Resources).
• Enter your DS Lite serial number in the field provided. This serial number is located on the back of your DS Lite and begins with "UG." Click "Get My Repair Options."
• Click "Get My Repair Started." As of March 2011, the cost is $75 to get your DS Lite repaired if you are not covered under warranty. The warranty on the Nintendo DS Lite is one year from the date of purchase.
• Enter your shipping address in the fields provided. Click "Continue."
• Select a shipping option. You can choose to print your own prepaid shipping label, or have Nintendo send you a prepaid shipping label through the mail. Click "Continue."
• Verify that the repair information is correct. Click "Continue to Billing and Payment."
• Enter your payment information in the fields provided. Click "Finish." If you selected to print your own label, do so now. Otherwise, Nintendo will ship a label out to you and you will receive it within seven business days.
• Place your Nintendo DS into a well padded box. Place the prepaid shipping label on the box and mail it to Nintendo. You should receive your repaired system in seven to 14 business days.

• I beleive the only thing it does NOT have is that nub-cylinder-gear thing that makes the screen stop on open or close with no loose in-betweens.

• This was bought to fix a broken hinge on my sons DS. It is a great case, he loves the Nintendo Dsi Skin. The aluminum seems to be just as strong as the original Nintendo shell.

• I ordered this case to have something to protect my dsi from fingerprints, scuffs, etc. This case definitely protects, while adding a nice metallic green color. It fits the dsi perfectly and all of the ports are easily accessible. It is aluminum on the outside. It adds a fair amount of weight to the dsi itself, but this is because it is aluminum.
