CPU Cooler Cooling Fan Related Problems

• If your laptop feels very hot and shuts down without any warning, it's possible that you have a faulty fan. Listen for the fan. Is it working? Sometimes you can see the fan through the fan grill on the bottom of the laptop. Can you see the fan spinning?
• If the fan never starts, probably it is bad and has to be replaced.
• When the fan bearing goes bad, the fan starts making grinding noise. In this case you'll have to replace the fan.
• If your CPU fan works hard all the time, most likely it happens because the heatsink is dirty and is clogged with dust and lint. You can clean the heatsink using compressed air

• This product is cool, it is silent with CNQ, I saw an improvement of -10C with my Kuma at 3.0G, right now ambient temp is 34c and cpu is at 48c.
  Installation is fairly easy, it is not heavy, comes with good instrucions.

• The clips that attach the fan to the cooling fins work quite well and are easy to use once you know how to attach them. The directions aren't clear on this, but there are some very good videos that show how the clips are fastened. Fan runs quiet, installation was a snap and I'm able to overclock my AMD Phenom quad core, running the computer as a 24/7 server and all is staying comfortably cool. I recommend this cooler.

• Ease of installation was easy, However, i can see how it could be confusing for a first time builder with the vagueness of the directions.
  Keeps my processor around 95 degrees F at a sustained full load.. i think the only thing better would be liquid cooling.

• I bought this cooler for an I7 860 on an msi p55-gd65. Very easy to install but one thing it doesn't mention in the instructions is that if you turn it 90 degrees to blow up instead of out the back it can be worth as much as ten degrees. At stock clocks it preforms admirably but with just a slight increase it starts to struggle. I was very unimpressed with the flatness of the base as the heat pipes seem recessed and don't make good contact with the chip. Even when the chip is running at 90+ degrees the cooler barely feels warm to the touch indicating poor heat transfer. If you have the time lapping would likely go a long way for this cooler.

• After some searching, I found the Cooler. In keeping with the philosophy of my build (buy the product at the point where performance just about stops increasing linearly with the price), I made the purchase, and the product arrived at my doorstep a few days later.

  But is this probably the best value cooler w/o spending $50+? I'd be hard pressed to find a better one.
