How to Install an ATX Power Supply in a Computer:

Personal computers are often underpowered for many of the software applications and games available to them. Power supplies assist the transfer of power to critical areas of need on the motherboard. Too many devices utilizing power can slow a computer considerably leaving the operator no choice but to upgrade the power supply.

• Disconnect all power to the computer by removing the power cord from the rear of the system. Press and hold the power switch for several seconds to dissipate any residual charge.
• Open the computer case using a screwdriver to expose the internal hardware. Touch the inside of the case to discharge any built up static electricity.
• Remove the existing ATX power supply by disconnecting all of the power cable connections running from the power supply to the motherboard. Unplug any peripheral devices at this time.
• Unscrew the screws holding the ATX power supply in place at the rear of the computer case, and set them aside for assembly of the new ATX power supply. Remove power supply from case.
• Install the new ATX power supply by sliding it into the position of the previous unit. Insert and tighten the rear case screws with a screwdriver and reconnect all power supply cable connections.
• Restore power cable to the computer and power up the system.

Tips & Warnings:

• Buy a power supply that can handle the load of the computer system.
• Buy an identical brand ATX power supply as the old unit to ensure all connections are the same.
• Wear a static strap to avoid transfer of damaging static electricity.

• I needed some more cable length for my new full tower case, and this was the perfect item. The sleeving is very high in quality and the whole assembly is very sturdy. The connectors clicked firmly into place, and I had no problems at all. (I also got the main power connector extension from the same product line, and it is a great product as well).

• Works as intended. A great looking sturdy wire. Having each wire braid covered individually makes it nice and flexable.
  
  A good item if you have a large case and plan on routing wires behind the motherboard tray (if your case has the feature anyway).

• This was exactly what I needed to complete my computer. What more can I ask for? I'm not some kind of super tech that looks for how fast it transfers power or something like that; this does the jobm, and does it well. My case was too big, and the cables wouldn't reach. • i had only one 4 pin power connector going to my mobo, so what did i do? I BOUGHT THIS! now i can over clock my processor/cpu if i want to, and makes for alot more stable power supplied to the motherboard, i just installed it today, and it works right out of the box [of its a power extension, but still it could be dead on arrival (DOA)] but my pc is on, and there are no power issues, i ran H.W. monitor, and its more stable than it was before. shipped on time, and came in excellent packing. wouldn't buy anywhere else, and since i have amazon prime, which is amazing, i do lots of buying, because i really save money in the end. i recommend buying this and nothing else, because its individually sleeved and very tough, you wont be disappointed for buying

  Allowed me to extend my 20-pin ATX cable around the back panel for better cable management, and it has a slick black coating around the wires to match my other PSU cables.
  Have only been using it for a day, but I doubt this cable will be any problem for me in the future.

• The cable worked fine but was disappointed that it was an 8 to 2 4 though that was not said and the pictures didn't show that, but it still worked.

  I was a bit worried the sleeving on each individual wire would make for a less than robust cable but this cable is very solid. The individual wire sleeving also makes the cable more flexible and manageable so its not just a cosmetic thing. I'll be coming back to this one if I ever need another AXT power extension.
