Guide to Transfer IDE to SATA:

- Take your IDE hard drive and place it into a free hard drive slot in your computer. Install the hard drive with four screws which will either be located inside the case or with the hard drive. Once the hard drive is securely in place, attach the IDE to SATA converter chip firmly to the hard drive
- Attach the SATA power cable to both the hard drive and to a free IDE power cable that is coming out of the computer's power supply unit (PSU). Attach the SATA data cable to both the hard drive and to the motherboard on the computer
- Re-attach the side of the computer, plug it in and power it on. If the installation was successful you will see the hard drive once you boot into the operating system. If the hard drive does not appear once you've logged in, check that all of your connections are secure and that no wires are loose or damaged inside the case
