How to Choose and Use An iPod Cassette Adapter?

• If you have a cassette deck in your car, and an iPod, purchase a cassette adapter. This cassette shaped device will allow you to listen to your iPod though your car's tape deck.

Instructions:

• Shop for a cassette tape adapter at a local electronics store, big box electronics store, the electronics section of a supermarket, or online. The varying quality of the cassette tape adapters purchased at any of these locations isn't much of an issue.
• Purchase a mid-range cassette tape adapter. Don't buy the cheapest one available, as it will likely break quickly. There's no need to buy the highest quality adapter unless you want as high fidelity a sound as you can achieve. A $20 - $25 adapter is a good compromise.
• Put the cassette tape adapter into the cassette deck of your car.
• Plug the mini jack at the end of the cassette adapter cord into the headphone jack on the top of your iPod.
• Control the volume with both your iPod and the car stereo.
• The iPod volume should be over half-way up in order for the audio to come through the stereo properly.

• Don't drive while changing songs on your iPod. It's extremely dangerous. Make a playlist before you start driving.

• This is an excellent product. I have been using it to connect my portable MP3 player to my car audio system. I have been using it daily for over a month and it work EXACTLY as it should. The sound is truly excellent and indistinguishable in quality from my car radio or CD player. The construction quality also seems to be excellent.

• I originally purchased this cassette adapter to listen to CD's in my Neon which did not have a CD player. This served its purpose well- great sound quality, the cassette was not loud in the cassette deck as a previous one had been, and I was finally able to listen to CD's in my car during the commute.

• This cassette adaptor couldn't be easier to use for playing music through car or stereo speakers. Cut the adaptor out of its plastic packing, stick it into a cassette deck, plug it into the headphone jack of your portable music player, and music. It's really as simple as that. The adaptor requires no assembly or adjustments to work perfectly right out of the box.

• This is one of those products that simply work great. I've been using mine for about a year with my Apple iPod and I couldn't be happier.
  You simply turn on your car stereo, insert the adapter into your cassette player as if it were a tape, insert the plug into your MP3 player, and start up your music. Easy! In fact, I never even looked at the instructions that came with it.

• I wasn't sure what to expect from this no-name brand cassette adapter but was pleased to find it worked well with my car tape deck stereo. I wanted to pipe music from the mp3 files in my LG enV3 cell phone through my car speakers. At first try, there was a noticeable hissing sound and the volume was quite suppressed. I ejected the cassette and pushed it back in to try again. This time, the volume level was corrected and the hissing noise went away. The sound quality is very good.

• Not the convenience of wireless, but works way well than fm transmitter units. Be sure to have Tape option turned on in your stereo unit if it does not activate sound automatically.
  Also folks remember, even when car or car stereo is turned off, most portable mp3 players will need to be turned off independently

• This adapter works fine with my mp3 player, at top volume there's slight background noise that can be taken care of with noise reduction if your car stereo has it. Sound quality is excellent and very consistent. It's much better and less expensive than a radio transmitter. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

  I realized the initial problem was due to not having used my tape deck in a quite a while. The contacts must have been very dirty! Anyway, I highly recommend this item.
