What Are the Main Differences Between HDMI and DVI?

• DVI is a video-only cable standard. It sends digital video packets from the signal source to an output display. HDMI works in the same way. The difference is that HDMI also supports audio. With HDVI v1.3, 7.1 high-definition audio is supported as well
• HDMI has backing by content providers and media studios for the inclusion of High-bandwidth Digital Copy Protection (HDCP). HDCP protects copyrighted content through devices connected via HDMI. DVI does not support HDPC. HDCP protected content will not display on a device without HDCP support

How to: Component Cable to HDMI Adapter:

• Insert one end of the component cable into the component ports of your component-to-HDMI converter
• Insert one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your converter. You have now constructed the adapter cable
• Test the cable by connecting the component ends of the cable to the component ports on your television, and the HDMI end to the HDMI port on your device (or vice versa). • This small adapter is convenient and easy to carry with me to travel around the world. I don't have to carry bulky HDMI cable with me if regular HDMI cable existed.

• I bought this so I could watch the videos or "dailies" of my video shot with the Canon Vixia HF M300. I did not want to buy a new cable, and found this adapter. It works great with my HDMI cable. The connection seemed fine, though I don't like the HDMI connection in general, but that is my opinion.

• Great piece to always carry in bag. I used this for a mini-HDMI out on a Canon T2i to output to a HD TV set and had ZERO issues. Only thing that would make it nicer is maybe a little string or something that just makes it easier to see and not lose. Maybe a little reflective sticker or something.
