• I have had no issues with surges since installed. I would suggest this as current from a power source is only one way that a surge can occur. Input from cable and telephone lines can also be a source of power surges.

• I installed this upstream of my cable modem and everything is fine. I added a ground to the electric outlet from this surge device.
  It works fine.Adding the ground is most important.

• The quality of it seems pretty good. It is easy to install and a small price to pay for peace of mind. It does not degrade my cable signal in any way; cable modem works fine with it.

• it's very well built. Make sure you use a ground wire or else I don't think this will even work. No ground means no surge protection.

• If you put the main unit in your garage attached to your house you will definitely know if something is wrong with your connection.
  
  If you are looking for an underground fence, this is the best unit available.
