• Handling it carefully, like any electronic part, it was installed in the computer and charged overnight with the computer turned off. As expected, after the first charge it ran around two hours until it had 10% left. We charged it again, this time while using the laptop, and ran it down again until the 'battery indicator' became yellow. Ditto a third time. On the fourth charge I got tired of timing it after four hours; that's better than the original Dell battery that came in the computer. Our experience with replacement batteries has been that they cannot be recharged as many times as the original manufacturer's battery; only time will tell. If you pay half price for a replacement battery but it only lasts half as long then you haven't gained anything.
