• Works exactly as advertised on my Fall 2010 6-core Mac Pro going out to my Sharp Aquos flatscreen. Sound works just fine, though you can't control the sound using the OS, it must be controlled via the TV remote

• This works great with my 2009 macbook pro. I didn't think there was a way to get sound until I spoke with someone about the mini tos-link cables.

• 1080p video AND audio are both supported through this single adapter. I've used it to play online games, watch YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu videos, iPhoto slideshows, and to surf the net using Safari, all on my 60" TV in high definition. The picture and sound quality are incredible.

• All I had to do was plug the adapter into the laptop's miniDisplay port, connect an HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV, and OS X automatically detected the TV. Then a quick jump into System Preferences / Sound / Output to select my TV as the output device, and that was it!

• The adapter worked perfectly on my 2011 MacBook Pro, and on a 2010 MacBook, transmitting audio through the adapter in both cases (even though a sales rep at the Apple store said 2010 MacBooks didn't transmit audio through the displayport).

• When I change my settings back to internal audio to my mac speakers it works fine but then back to my tv it cuts out for a second every 4-5 seconds. Its not the HDMI cable as I tested it with my PS3 and it worked fine. I am returning this item to hopefully get another one that will work longer than 5 uses. Bummer since it's a great deal.

• I bought this adapter because of the amazing price and it worked great the first few times I had it hooked up from my late 2010 iMac to my Sony hdtv. I wanted it because it now supports audio and I needed it to play through my surround sound. Well at first it worked like a charm for both video and audio.

• Stumble on this adapter in this shop, there are several reviewers already mentioning that it works with their thunderbolt port. A little bit nervous since a month ago, i bought an HDMI adapter also from this online shop and it did not work (maybe that one just defective). But this one, works perfectly! Paid only 6 bucks which included shipping rather than 30 bucks at Apple store. Good deal!
