• I installed this in my Dell XPS400 in order to add two eSATA ports. I had a few questions and called StarTech. They were pleasant and helpful. (The card comes with lifetime support, I believe). I plugged in a Fantom Drives 2 TB Green Drive and everything is working fine. No problems at all. I'll buy StarTech again.

• But once I installed the board and rebooted, the computer automatically downloaded the driver without my lifting a finger. I connected an external Blu-Ray player and it was recognized and worked without the slightest trouble. You can't ask for a board that is better than this.

• While there is no Customer Support phone number in the documentation, the Technical Support rep who answered my email provided a number and was extremely helpful in guiding me through the installation. While such first-rate customer service is a rarity, I'm surprised that StarTech does not find it more cost effective to provide decent documentation and installation software.

• Nonetheless, the pcie card is very inexpensive. If you watch the you tube videos, you can learn how to install. The Windows XP SP2 recognizes the new hardware and finds the driver in the disk. Data seems to be transferred at a faster rate then with usb 2.0 connections.

• Would like to get 2 more years out of my Sony VGC-RB52 desktop. The card came with a disk that had the driver(s) that matches. If you are not a technical person, be aware that pci cards and pcie cards are not the same. I had to learn. If you think you may have trouble installing, the youtube videos are extremely helpful.

• I purchased this to add external storage to my Windows Home Server. The card is very small, installs easily. The drivers for Server 2003 (on the supplied CD) installed without problem.

• I purchased one of these units a few months ago when I needed to expand the storage on my lab box at work. The need arose to increase the storage again, so I bought another one. I'd buy more of this gems if the need should arise. Just plug it in and go when running Windows Server 2008 R2 X64.

• It went into a Acer x3950 mini HTPC tower set up for additional eSATA Thermaltake driven SATA drives dedicated for Movies, TV shows Music and Pictures as the tower only has slot for one drive. So far the product has worked as advertized. Easy set up - although had to spend a few minutes to find the drivers on the CD - was not straight forward
