How to Install a Car Power Inverter:

• Park the vehicle and open the hood. Disconnect the battery by loosening the positive cable with a wrench and pulling it free with your hand
• Mount the power inverter. Pick a location which will allow plenty of air flow around the inverter as they heat up when used. A typical mounting location is on the lower kick panel in the passenger side of the vehicle under the dash
• Wire the inverter. Run a length of wire from the positive side of the inverter to the car's battery by running the wire through a grommet in the firewall
• Connect the wires. Connect the new positive and negative wires to the wires coming from the inverter to the wires you installed into the vehicle by placing terminal ends on the wires and crimping them in place in the same manner as the positive wire at the battery

• This small power inverter does the trick. I bought for a working vacation that lasted 2 weeks. If we were on the road, I had one of my mobile devices plugged in and charging. It's just the right size. I easily fit in two a/c plugs plus a USB charger for my iphone/ipod touch. I mainly used it to power my Apple Mac Book Air and to recharge my verizon wireless mobile MIFI card.

• Good idea to do actual measures on your electrical load to determine if this inverter will meet your needs.
  When new, the inverter gave off a solder smell in use; that odor is dissipating.
  The inverter does get warm, even powering a USB port, so it's apparently not very energy-efficient.

• It had two great bonus features, a cigarette lighter adapter so it can be used in your car (thought its only use was for the airplane) and a nifty compact carry bag for all the parts. I'll admit that I have only used it once but so far I give it five stars. It really lived up to its billing.

• i've bought 3 of these car chargers so far. i bought one for my son in law who used it when he drove cross country--he loved it. came in handy when he wanted to charge his phone before he camped out for the night and would have no power. i read a lot of reviews before deciding on this one. it's small yet powers a computer and phone. i love it and would recommend it.
