Size in Detail:

How to Pick a Protective Camera Case:
- Consider the equipment in the camera case and determine how much space you need. Many times just the camera is in the camera case. Other times lenses, flashes, tripods and other equipment need a safe place within the protective case as well
- Look for an easy-to-carry bag that's light and fits the needs of the photographer. Large, heavy cases get in the way and are difficult to store. Heavy cases may seem more secure but are often dropped
- Choose a compartmentalized case to hold many different pieces of equipment. Many cases offer a hook and look style interior that reconfigures to the photographer's taste or needs
- Buy a case that ideally holds two camera bodies, two or three lenses and a flash unit. A medium-sized bag that holds this equipment and weighs no more than 20 lbs. reduces fatigue on the photographer
- Inspect the protective camera case for quality workmanship. Solid stitching on soft cases and the ability to partition the interior is essential. Hard cases need strong welds and reinforced corners and edges to protect against rough handling
How to Pack a Camera Bag:

- Pick a waterprooof camera bag with separate compartments for various pieces of equipment
- Choose lenses and film for a range of conditions
- Pack camera, lenses, film, flash and handheld light meter
- Pack accessories, spare batteries and repair tools such as a small screwdriver, safety pins and molding clay in case of camera malfunction
- Keep repair tools and other small accessories together
- Make sure the camera and lenses are easily accessible
Tips & Warnings:
- Bring a plastic bag to put your camera in when photographing in dusty or salty conditions
- Put film in an X-ray-proof bag when passing through security checks at airports
- Store your camera inside a plastic bag with a packet of silica gel in damp environments
- Bring ultrafast film in case of flash failure
- Be sure to include lens cleaner and a lens cloth. A dirty lens will ruin an otherwise good shot
How to Wash a Camera Bag:

A camera bag protects your device from precipitation, dirt and other elements that cause damage to the camera. Nothing protects the inside and outside of the bag from particles and germs, though. Dust that is inside the bag eventually travels inside the camera, and once enough debris collects there, it can cause the camera to malfunction. Germs and bacteria found on the outside of the bag can also transfer to the camera. Cleaning both sides of the bag periodically eliminates debris that harms the camera and germs that make you sick
Instructions:
- Unzip the camera bag. Turn it inside out. Inspect the inside of the bag and eliminate any dust or dirt particles with your hands. Use the can of compressed air, if necessary, to eliminate stuck-on particles from the bag
- Mix a few drops of the mild liquid soap with about 1 cup of tap water
- Dip the cloth into the cleaning solution. Squeeze the cloth so it is isn't dripping wet. Wipe the inside of the camera bag thoroughly with the cloth
- Turn the camera bag inside out and repeat Steps 5 and 6 to clean the outside of the bag
- Leave the bag unzipped until both the inside and outside of the bag is completely dry
