• What can you say about a lens hood. Should have been included with the lens; a hood is a must if you venture outside for pictures!!!

• The Canon one fits perfectly on the lens and has a nice velvet coat inside that I think is intended to protect the lens against scratches. Well, Pay more and get the one for Canon. It worths!

• i liked that when you are not using it you can flip it inwards some generic lens hoods do not have this feature so i believe that this alone was worth the extra price.

• when the hood is reversed on the lens, it blocks the zoom ring tremendously. it's not the end of the world, but you're probably better off storing this in a bag, and not on the lens itself when not in use.
