How to Make Baby Toy Rattles for Free - Save Money on Children's Toys?
Babies love toys that make a bit of noise or have color and create light. You can make a variety of interesting toys for free with things you have around the house. Babies do not care if they cost money or are designer toys. Babies just want to learn and they learn by seeing and doing.
- Clean the bottles. Some will have to be dried on the inside first. You can let them sit upside down for a day or two which should do the trick.
- Add bits of colorful objects that will rattle and make a bit of noise. Seal the top with waterproof tape so you will be able to clean the rattle without the tape shredding. I think it is a good idea to insert objects which would not easily come out if the someone opened the top. An infant cannot open the top but an older sibling might get the idea. Bits of colorful cloth or yarn will make a pretty toy without any noise for when you don't want to hear any.
- Put about 1 oz of water (an inch) in the bottle and add a bit of liquid dish or hand soap. Replace the cape and seal with waterproof tape. Shake it and you have a colorful kaliedoscope of color and light. Babies love this toy!
- You can suspend these toys from the ceiling over a playpen or crib. Also, they can be tied to a high-chair or stroller. Be inventive. Try to figure out how many toys you can make without spending a dime. Be proud of your imagination. Write down what you have done to pass on to grandchildren.
