How to Troubleshoot a Wireless Optical Mouse:

Wireless accessories, like a mouse use short-wave wireless signals to facilitate communication between the computer and the device. These short-wave wireless signals generally use Bluetooth technology, but occasionally use other wireless protocols. If your wireless mouse is not working, there may be a problem with this network, or with the mouse hardware itself. To troubleshoot the source of your issues, you can follow some troubleshooting steps to see where the problem is coming from and correct it

• Reconnect wireless adapter. If you are not connecting using an internal transceiver, try using a different USB port. Adapters will not function when they are connected to a hub, so make sure the adapter is connected directly to the computer
• Make sure the bottom of the optical mouse is clean. Spray a lint-free cloth with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and wipe down the bottom of the mouse (including the optical eye) with the cloth. Take special care to remove all dust and dirt from the bottom of the mouse
• Use the Windows mouse diagnostic tool. See the link in the "Resource" section to download this tool. Once the download has finished, launch the "Run" dialog box and type "mousinfo". this will launch the diagnostic tool, and give you an idea if there is a hardware or software issue with your mouse. If there is a software issue (like drivers) the mouse diagnostic tool should be able to fix it
• Remove conflicting mouse software. If you have used another wireless mouse in the past, the software that came with it may be interfering with the current software. Open the Run dialog box and type "appwiz.cpl". Press "OK" and then select any conflicting mouse software or drivers from the list

• This mouse is by far the best one I've owned. Although I do play games occasionally, my main need/use for this mouse is photoshop. It has a high DPI laser, and customizable buttons. For both gaming, and photoshopping this mouse is incredible. Its economic design even makes web browsing easier.

• William JoseI had this month little over a month and I loved it, it was comfortable, stylish, good precision... until it broke. For some reason these mice have a hardware problem that causes them to double click after a period of use. I called Microsoft support and after a few email exchanges and they informed me the the Habu had been discontinued and they were replacing them with Microsoft Sidewinder X5s.... and I hate that mouse because it feels like a cheap piece of crap...

• I like the size and shape very well. The programmable buttons make this mouse good for most apps. The 'always' on feature is great for my games, response is very good . I would buy it again and on this website the price was excellent.

• I really like this mouse. The precision control you have is amazing. To switch sensitvity settings on the mouse while you use it is pretty useful. The glowing blue makes it look awesome.

• This mouse functions very well. I got it for a computer I'll be keeping in the basement that will act as a server for a family development hobby between myself, my Dad, and brother who live in separate states. It functions as designed. Although I won't be using this as my everyday mouse (I prefer a bluetooth wireless mouse for that to save on usb ports), I certainly could. The scroll wheel is a little noisy and feels "cheap" when you roll it, but not terribly so. Overall, I'm quite pleased.

• Works as expected, maybe the middle wheel is too stiff, it feels like a click each time the middle wheel moves; other than that it works as expected, no mouse jumping, no mouse lag, no pointer disappearing, all solid.
