How to Use a Sub Machine Gun Effectively:

• Pick your perks: First, you want to pick the best perks for your SMG. Choose Bandolier for perk 1. Choose UAV Jammer for perk 2. Using either Double Tap or Stopping Power is important to the P90. It has low damage (but very high fire rate), so adding damage or maxing out the fire rate will help kill faster. SMGs are usually very weak at long range. Using Stopping Power will help. That is, if you don't care about staying stealthy
• Choose either Dead Silence, Extreme Conditioning or Steady Aim for perk 3. Extreme Conditioning will help you sprint very far, Dead Silence keeps you stealthy and Steady Aim helps you with hip firing. SMGs already have high hip firing accuracy, so adding Steady Aim will help you dominate at close range, without needing to aim down the sight
• Use the unique characteristics of SMGs to your advantage. When in ADS mode, you don't lose speed walking. So strafe and fire
• Infiltrate enemy buildings: Go inside buildings to either get to the objective first or kill your enemy snipers and campers. Remember, SMGs are best at close range, and in a building, you should be able to dominate
• Run around: Once successful, repeat step 3 and run around the edge of the map. If there is a battle in one part of the map, use the following tactic. Never go straight into a battle with an SMG. SMGs let you sprint fast and far. Try to go behind the enemy (by running around the battle) and flank them.
• Watch your radar for targets. Preferably find targets around the corners or camping

Tips:

• Use a silencer This will keep you off of the enemy radar drecreasing the chance of detection when behind enemy lines. Do not use the silencer on the AK-74u as it reduces range more than the other SMGs and widens hip-fire spread. If you are not a stealthy person, use the Red Dot Sight
• Dropshot Change your button layout to tactical and drop to the floor when face to face with someone, this will help you massively as they will have to adjust their aim to the floor while you can continue shooting them
• Keep sprinting around the edge of the map until you find a target. Once you kill your target, get away
• Aiming: When you aim with the Iron sights or red dot sight, keep strafing from left to right
• Firing from the hip: When firing from the hip circle around your opponent while trying to fire at him. You're so fast that he will miss you 50% of the time. Its way better than just standing there
• Close Combat: Your SMG is good for inside buildings which means its good for close combat
• Knife your target if they are close enough
• Search and Destroy: When you use a Submachine Gun in Search and Destroy, silence it

• MP5: The MP5 is the most balanced gun in the game. Great from the hip or the sights. This is the best gun with the silencer, other than the silenced skorpion glitch. When using the MP5, use the M9 pistol as a secondary. The MP5 and M9 share ammo, getting rid of the need of the Bandolier perk.
• Mini Uzi: The Mini-Uzi is the best SMG to aim from the hip. Try not to snipe with this gun. Its great with the silencer or red dot sight.
• AK-74u: This gun is the most underrated gun of the game. Its very powerful and can shoot pretty far like an assault rifle. It does have bad recoil, so fire at the hip when you shoot so that the aim rises up to the head from the recoil. This gun is the best for killing people with juggernaut.
• P90: This gun is often considered the most popular sub machine gun in the game. Its great for firing from the hip or from the iron sights or red dot sight. Definitely strafe while aiming with this gun.
• Skorpion: This gun is very accurate due to its low recoil but a 20 round magazine and high rate of fire make for frequent reloading. Silencing a skorpion glitches it and gives it the range of a sniper rifle.
