How to Hook Up a Nintendo Wii Controller

When purchasing a Nintendo Wii, you may have been interested in the experience brought to your games by its motion-sensitive controls. Motion controls are made possible with the system's controller, the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote works wirelessly, allowing multiple players to join in on the games, whether it's fast-paced fighting action or a family-friendly adventure. Just a few steps are needed to have the Wii Remote connected and ready to play with.

• Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote, and insert two "AA" batteries. Leave the battery cover off.
• Open the Wii's SD Card Slot cover on the front of the system.
• Hit the "SYNC" button inside the SD Card Slot, then hit the "SYNC" button located in the battery compartment of the Wii Remote. Replace the remote's battery cover.
• Wait until the blue LED light on the front of the remote stops blinking. Synchronization is completed.
