Decide where you want to install the camera. Pick the best angle for the camera. Choose the height of the camera position. Hold the camera's mounting bracket in place with one hand and use a pencil to mark the screw holes with the other. Select a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screw you will use to mount the bracket. Drill a hole into the wall. Hold the mounting bracket in place and insert the screws into the predrilled holes. Place the camera onto the mounting bracket. Plug the camera into an outlet or insert batteries, depending on the type of camera you own. Follow the manufacturer's directions to synchronize the camera to the base station.

1. Use a potted plant or vine. With your small wireless camera, you can purchase a small stand or tripod. Hide the camera inside the flowers with the tripod supported inside the dirt. If you have plastic plants, clip the camera to a leaf or flower. This should be in the middle of the plants where it cannot be seen.
2. Open your smoke detector. You may be able to remove the light from the dector. Place your camera inside and fasen it securely. If your smoke detecor light cannot be removed, you can purchase one with a small hole to hide your wireless camera.
3. Place your camera in an animal cage or fish tank. A waterproof wireless camera is important to purchase if you want to use a fish tank. You can place the camera inside a fish castle or plants. A hamster, rat or rabbit cage can be used as well. Put the wireless camera in the animal's house or toys.
4. Use a closet with shutters. You may have this type of closet in the room where you want the video camera. Make sure you place it so it can look directly through the shutters. You may place the wireless camera higher in the closet to capture the whole room. You could also place it in the middle or lower for a more direct view of a certain place.
5. Open your surround sound speakers. Usually these are situated around your living room or bedroom. You can purchase a wireless camera for each one to get a complete look throughout the room. Popping open the case and placing the camera inside through an open hole will allow you to keep an eye on your home or business.

Most new digital-video cameras come with a built-in wireless feature that allows the cameras to connect to a computer or the device being used to receive the signal. The receiver must also maintain a wireless connection to a monitor or time-lapse recorder in order for the wireless security camera to capture the feed going into the receiver.
2. The communication between camera and receiver takes place at a frequency specific to both devices. Most wireless devices, cameras in this case, allow you to select from only four frequencies. Frequency limitations usually limit you to four cameras per location at a given frequency.
3. While the video signal that transfers the signal from the camera to the receiver and monitor is wireless, each of the devices (camera, receiver and monitor) still needs a power source. At this point, a totally "wireless" security camera setup is not available. Security cameras must be set up near electrical outlets.
