How to Hang up a Sweater:
You can properly hang up a sweater without causing creases to form or hanger indication. With so many different hangers on the market these days, that's all it takes is finding the right one. Here is a look at different types of sweaters and the perfect hanger to use
Instructions- Use a padded hanger with longer extended hooks and hang them up by going in through the bottom to prevent stretching the sweater out. These hangers should also be used for sweaters with high collars
- Choose a padded coat hanger for bulkier sweaters as they are thicker all around and gives more support
- flexible foam hangers that can be molded to support sweaters different sizes and shapes. These hangers will help to prevent any shoulder bumps ordinary hangers cause to sweaters
- You can easily make your own sweater protector instead of buying them. Just roll some bubble wrap around a wooden hanger, tape it up well and then hang your sweater on it
- You can find these hangers in different sizes at stores all over. Make sure you read the label attached to your sweater and wash it properly as well to protect it
How to Remove Pills From a Sweater:
Nothing makes a sweater look older and uglier than a whole bunch of pills. Sweaters with acrylic in them get more of the little balls than sweaters made of other material. Removing pills from a sweater is pretty easy. Read on for tips on getting your sweater looking like new again
Instructions- Lay the sweater out flat on a hard surface. It's best not to lay it on soft surface, like a bed, if possible. You can even put a towel on the floor and lay the sweater on top of that
- Use a sticky lint roller to go over the entire sweater. This will remove some of the large pills and any lint. Be sure to concentrate on areas near the arm pits where rubbing creates more pills. The bottom of the sweater and around the neck may have more fuzzies as well
- Using a battery-operated pill remover or fabric shaver slowly go over the entire sweater to remove the pills. Again, concentrate on areas that rub where there are a higher number of more pills
- There are probably some pills that were not picked up by the pill shaver. What you're going to do is take a disposable razor or a dulled razor and go over areas that are still pilled. Work in small areas at a time and go in one direction: down. Try to use your free hand to pull the area taunt so you can remove as many fuzzies as possible. Clean out the razor as often as you need to. If you notice that the razor is no longer removing pills, you may need to get a new razor
